I Got a Bullet (I Can Get You From Here)

ukrainian revenge punk polka

Liner Notes:

The idea was a broken English revenge/murder tune that might sound a little like Gogol Bordello. It's about a guy who loves someone who doesn't love him back. It gives him anger. He plots revenge, but is afraid to actually get near her. So ultimately he does nothing.

Who hasn't been there, right? Right?

Lyrics:

I Got a Bullet (I Can Get You From Here)
Chris Henson

I tell you once
I tell you twice
I’m gonna kill you if you can’t be nice
You kick my heart
You step it flat
Now I have anger, what you think of that?

You’re with your mama
I see you there
I hear you tell her that you don’t be scared
You don’t believe me
But I am true
You see how true when I come after you

There are times when all the world is asleep
You feel me coming
Deep in your dreams
You no have running
You no can screams
I don’t get closer
I don’t get near
I got a bullet I can get you from here.

You tell your brother
He fix my car
It broke again so baby here we are
He owe me money
You owe me too
He not aware that I come after you

Your dog is barking
Now your dog dead
Your cat is sitting on foot of your bed
He no hear something
No turn around
I get you faster than the speed of sound

There are times when all the world is asleep
You feel me coming
Deep in your heart
You no have beating
It no can start
I don’t get closer
But have no fear
I got a bullet I can get you from here.

I tell you once
Now I repeat
I’m gonna kill you with a bullet so sweet
At being angel
You were the champ
Now you behavior like a super tramp

There are times when all the world is asleep
You feel me coming
Deep in your dreams
You no can run
You no have scream
I don’t get closer
I don’t get near
I got a bullet I can get you from here.

    Cool! Love the last sentence!

The accent could've been more exaggerated IMO, but the rest is done very nice and adds to the atmosphere!

Just saying I came back to listen to it again, have done several times. big_smile

Long story short, this is my favorite FAWM song ever. It's pretty much perfect.

I can't believe I hadn't commented on this when I first heard it, but there it is... FANTASTIC! Well written, superbly recorded and played; it's got hooks, style, a cool swooshing effect ( I likes me cool swooshy things!) and attitude. A+++++ man. You are *the* man!
  •  tfish77 2 weeks ago
Wow! So fantastic. The guitar is absolutely perfect on this, and the lyrics are hilarious. I like how there's a little silence in each verse, definitely ups the tension. And the effects on the "times when all the world is asleep" really fit nicely (nice Supertramp reference, btw). Great song!

This amazing. My favourite so far.
I keep having visions of a man somewhere between Gogol Bordello and Borat in an ill fitting suit walking through a town square with a gun or 7. Kind of like Boris The Bullet Dodger from Snatch.
