indie pop parenthood hopes-and-dreams
When a song comes to me, it usually comes with both lyrics and music. This song is a rare case in which it was written without any melody in mind. I'm not too crazy about working that way, but it's nice to know that that's a hurdle I can vault when I really have to.

(Chorus)
All these things I wish for you
My little one, my little one
All these things I wish for you
My sweet little one
(Verse I)
May you never go hungry
May you never lack shelter
May your hands never freeze
May your back never swelter
May you never be friendless
May you never go astray
May you never be short
Of people wanting to play
May you never be lonely
At least not for long
May you never lose sight
Of what's right and what's wrong
(Chorus)
All these things I wish for you
My little one, my little one
All these things I wish for you
My sweet little one
(Verse II)
May you always walk surely
May you always strive well
May your mind always race
May your heart always swell
May you always dream madly
May you always reach high
May you always find passion
In no short supply
May you always know comfort
When comfort is needed
May you always have all your calls
And your cries heeded
(Instrumental)
(Chorus)
All these things I wish for you
My sweet little one
All these things I wish for you
My sweet little one
(Verse III)
May things not be too easy
And yet not so hard
May you always be satsfied
With your hand of cards
May you grow from your errors
And learn from mistakes
May you always discover
You have what it takes
Always Discover
You have what it takes
Always know
You have what it takes
(Chorus)
All these things I wish for you
My little one, my little one
All these things I wish for you
My sweet little one
(Coda)
These things and more I wish for you
My little one, my little one
These things and more I wish for you
My sweet little one
