Gypsy Eyes (*26017)

Liner Notes:

We were messing around with audio, like we usually do, when we decided to take an acoustic guitar track and pitch shift it up an entire octave. We thought it sounded interesting and added some harpsichord to it. The resulting song is pretty medieval sounding. Cool, huh?

The subject matter is inspired by The Hunchback of Notre Dame, oddly enough.

Lyrics:

The gypsy's eyes, they break my heart again
I need the prize
The darkness cries with hellfire in the wind
Oh, how she fries

Sending all the people down into the jar
I'm making twisters with my little frozen star

I'll steal her soul, or she won't come back again
So tell your stones
The bells will toll while the devil's gonna win
Leave me alone

Sending all the people down into the jar
I'm making twisters with my little frozen star
Sending all the people down into the jar
I'm making twisters with my little frozen star

Wow. I'm a big fan of this track. The mix and instrumentation are really slick. The vocals are great. What a crazy little track. Definitely downloading.

i dont know why i hear it, but the vocal + the mellotron? and the harpsichord makes me feel i'm waking up in the haight/ashbury. this is another gem.

The guitar sounds like a harpsichord to start with...and the actual harpsichord reinforces this impression. A chorus of harpsichords! It does sound medieval, also, because of your choral effects, pipe organ, and flute. A very enjoyable track!

Nice sounds here. The arrangement is excellent--- tambourine, big kettle drum sounds, choir/synth voice, that pitch-shifted guitar that sounds like an autoharp or something else entirely... Good interplay of parts, and everything stays out of the way for the lead vocal and lyric.

I'm really impressed with the production of this, it sounds most excellent. The melody and your singing is really a notch above the rest too. Consider it downloaded!
