This one made me struggle for every lyric. It was one of those. But I am pretty happy with the finished result.
The credit for the phrase "glass case of emotion" goes to @thehotlibrarian, my Twitter friend (and apparently the movie "Anchorman", which I totally didn't know when I wrote this).
Glass case of emotion
Break and cause and emergency
Addictive devotion
Through all the mess that you get from me
Hold me together while I fall apart
How much more can you take of my broken heart
I'm up on a tightrope
Of pretty pictures and angry winds
I'm knocked out of balance every time that the rains begin
And when I struggle to be what they want me to
How heavy do I get when I lean on you?
Bridge:
Weight of the world on the shoulders
And still I keep taking from you
I make things so much harder
When all that I want to do
Is give you a harbor
A place to rest when your world is gray
My arms as a shelter
And eyes that see what you want to say
So I'll be stronger when you need me to
What you see in me is what I'll give to you
It's what I'll give to you
