Liner Notes:

I made it kind of an old-and-forgetful lyric, about how talking to each other substitutes for fading memories. 45-minutes title to demo. My voice is nice and deep right when I wake up.

Lyrics:

I'm pretty sure that we know many things
Regarding each other, the joy that it brings
Recalling the good times, and even the things I regret
I'm pretty sure that I've loved you forever
And ours is a love that will never be severed
but keep the words coming so that I will never forget

chorus:
We need to talk more often
'Cause I keep forgetting
The things that I think
it's pretty upsetting
how memory fades away as the years go by
We need to talk more often
'cause I can't remember
One minute ago
but I know there's an ember
Ofr fond recollections we'll have if we give it a try

Thanks for the memories we've made through the years
thanks for the love and thanks for the tears
Now I am older and my thoughts quickly fade away
But if you talk to me and if I talk to you
We can update each other on what things are true
And keep my thoughts in the corral as we round up the strays

pretty interesting take on the concept and the delivery here is perfect for the words. Pretty good country sound you got going on. Nice playing and singing.

I love your vocal, maybe because it reminds me so much of country crooners my dad listened to when I was a kid. Wonderful point of view to this song - just too many good lines and rhymes to mention them all. Works great as a guitar/vocal song, like some of the stripped-down things Johnny Cash did late in his career.

I remember an exceptionally sweet thing Archie Bunker said to Edith all those years ago, about how it was obviously by design that our eyes get worse as we get older so that our loved ones always look the same. This is kind of a different version of the same thing - each of you might forget certain things, but together, two of you can probably put all the pieces together.

In these days where relationships often don't last, I think a lot of people are going to be missing out on that sort of thing.

This is sweet and poignant. I always love hearing songs that are written from a mature point of view and thank GOD there are still some around. I like this song a lot. There is still a lot of old-fashioned in me and once in a while a song like this reminds me of that, sort of like the idea of your song.

Really dig your voice, and some nice lyrics. I wish there was any time of day that I could sound like that! You've got a great, deep rumble (and I'm hoping you're not 13 years old, like that kid from American Idol -- that was just too darned freaky for me!).
