Frozen stars (*23987)

late-night acoustic monologue

Liner Notes:

Written and recorded in an hour .. could be inappropriately described as a one-take wonder

A few mistakes and an annoying string buzz toward the end, but I think the general atmosphere fits the mood of the song. Might be a wee bit quiet though as I recorded it just before midnight

Lyrics:

four years i'm older
cracking bones and raking scars
until they break right open
reveal my heart
packed full of frozen stars
waiting for the answers

this is how we breathe in
when we can't breathe
i hope the storm is over
the wind cuts deep

twelve days of unrest
aching hands and bloodshot eyes
all the days and mornings
blur with the night
no surprise i look so tired
but never felt so awake

Hee hee... it reminds me of 2001. Your heart is full of stars!

Like the monolith! So you can use your hear to.... forge life... and planets... and suns... and whatever that monolith is used for.

Totally cool, I like space theme songs about personifying monoliths. At least.. I guess I would... haven't heard any until today. Huzzah!

Really unusual and inventive, intriguing lyrics. Agree with the intimate feel as VV said

Really nice, the room sound makes it sound nicely intimate.

Great lyrics, and I agree on the room reverb raw sound being perfect. Some lovely guitar chords and melody work there

Raw but beautiful. Love the hang of the melody at the end of the verse lines. Really nice guitar going on too. Really catchy.

The lo-fi room sound really adds to the raw beauty of this. Chord changes are so nice....love the little break before the last verse and then at the end. But wow, I really like this tune, I played it again right as it ended. smile
