Waltz for a Clementine (*23919)

waltz three clementine dulcimer mountain-dulcimer appalachian-dulcimer acoustic video odd-instrument

Liner Notes:

Here's my first dulcimer entry for this year. I opted to make a video of it so that you can experience more of this really cool instrument. Truth be told, I mostly just dabble in dulcimer - it's not something I actively practice.

The tuning's D-G-DD, usually it's D-A-DD. I do what I feel like. Bam.

Really cool track. It has a great rising feel to it. Fascinating to see it played, too. Rad!

I still don't know how you play with those gloves on, but this was really cool to watch.
I don't think I have ever seen one of these played in person.
Is there any instrument you don't play?
And the harmonics at the end!!!!!! Nice.

I've never seen one of these played without a slide... It's actually pretty cool. I'm glad you posted this as a video. Great song! smile

Oh, this just made me smile watching it. Good memories. Lovely tune, you play a mean dulcimer. It felt like very polished dabbling.

Very awesome. I always loved the hammer dulcimer in Rich Mullin's songs. I've actually never seen a different type. Very cool. Felt celtic.

I love that Appalachian mountain music. I've been trying to play around with it a bit myself during this FAWM. You certainly got the hang of it. Waltzes are a trip with that mt music. so beautiful. so ethereal. And so hard for me to write.
