Lyrics:

In This Sun (Bump In The Night)
Ab 135bpm

V1
In this sun I saw truth...I
In this sun I was truth...I
should have waited for the night ahead...I
should have prayed to push the hell away

CH
Ran out of time to run away
And avert this nightmare day
Throw down the crown and run away
but I didn't want that distaste

V2
Innocent I loved truth...I
Innocent I was truth...I
couldn't see the complexity...I
didn't fathom it could be relatively

<CH>

BR
Hey, and nothing throws daggers like today
yeah hey, Wish those things I believed could be that way

INSTRO

V3
Lovely Summer I loved you right...I
Sun that fades I loved you bright

END CH
a bump in the night
just until the shadows break
a break in your heart

Bump in the night
just wait til the shadows break
it won't be too long

Bump in the night
It's not gonna leave so
get in and drive it away
and you're feeling the shadows go
as you're rolling home

Bump in the night
yeah-hey
bump, bump in the night
Rolling home
bump bump in the night
Bump bump in the night
I'm rolling home

I agree, some echoes of Bowie here. Great! Also a bit like a few songs of the Latvian band Brainstorm. Enjoyed it! Cheers

I really like the vocals, too, but I think it's more of a Simple Minds kind of vibe. Your synthpop styling courts the verge of being 80's, but is still relatively modern. Very cool.

"Ran out of time to run away" - love this lyric. This is a cool tune, I like your vocals, the delivery is Bowie'esque in parts. Very interesting change at the end.
