I suppose I cheated with this one a little. I wrote this song a while ago when I was in one of those Life Patches - so hard to describe but so easy to fall into. I needed reassurance that I could change, morph, move and still appreciate each moment as I lived it, acknowledging that I had lived moments before stretching until birth and would continue to do so stretching on to death. Mainly I just wanted to appreciate each moment I had, each Now I stepped into.

Much of it is based on Zen-esque philosophy and the book Power of Now. These concepts get me through.

To be fair, putting music to my songs is what I find most difficult. Lyrics and melody I generally manage quite quickly. Finding the music and working out the kinks is what takes me time. So even with this song previously written, I've ovaried-up to do the hard part. It still counts to me!

I wanted the music to be simple with a little quirk and repetitive, to mimic the feeling of time passing and the concepts of moments. I'm pleased with this.

I completely dig this song. There's fond nostalgia, enthusiasm for the future, but most of all contentedness with the present. Awesome!

Love the lyrics, oh and "leaf within the wind" reminds me of Wash's leaf line in Serenity
