Carried by Birds

Andrew Grimm

Lyrics:

it's no accident
catching stares from a ghost
bottle tops and broken teeth
a summer spent alone

carried by birds
that no longer sing
you fell so easy
you hardly believe

you left too much out
there's nothing left to kiss
it's not heavy yet
we're only half way there

carried by birds
that no longer sing
you fell so easy
you hardly believe

from out on high
a place you'll never know
calling out names
you used to know

carried by birds
that no longer sing
you fell so easy
you hardly believe

carried by birds
that no longer sing
you fell so easy
you hardly believe

carried by words
we no longer sing
we fell so easy
no one can believe

So glad to hear a new tune from Andrew Grimm! We've missed you around here. Don't remember hearing any organ on your tunes before - a welcome surprise.

I loved the tone on the guitar and the vocals are spot on. A good start to FAWM.

And Grimm shows us how accessible and thought-provoking are not mutually exclusive. Great production chops on this one.

The chords hook me right at the start.

@ orest: the joy of FAWM is getting the basics down; there's always time to flesh the tunes out later.

Nice work! Those last two choruses vary from the written lyrics... I liked "fell so hard" and "no one can sing," "carried by words" is a nice turn too. Bottle tops and broken teeth: bad decisions+painful consequences. Good CD title.

    ... welcome back.

i'll get working on that right a way.

I think you have a really nice ground, the chord progression is awesome!
I do think you need a stronger hook and more dynamic changes.
