Using the first verse of a poem by Mal (http://fawm.org/fawmers/mal/)

He dreamt of her --
of the way she could move him with a whisper,
or hold him with a touch,
and take his breath with a kiss.

and see what happens smile

Lyrics:

He dreamt of her --
of the way she could move him with a whisper,
or hold him with a touch,
and take his breath with a kiss.

He dreamt of her --
in nights filled with love and passion
and sensual reflection
at completion, contentment and bliss

(Chorus)
He dreamt of her
in waking hours just a whisper
He dreamt of her
A woman almost remembered
Didn't know if she was real
In the day time but still
He dreamt of her

He dreamt of her --
and prayed she be there in the morning
but always woke alone
counting hours, till he could hold her again

Chorus

Cool song. Nice understated playing and guitar. Sounds quite full, though -- very nice.

I like the questions raised by the lyrics...who is this woman, where is she? It lets the listener make up their own story.

Nice song. I also write music on poetry sometimes. The dreamy atmosphere of the poem is well translated, though the music could have been somewhat more sensual. smile

Heartwarming. Very good imagery you're using here. On a side note, I'm going to have to try my own hand at this game, sooner or later.

This might be an odd comment, but I have an odd desire to hear the song 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' after hearing this.

Anyways, it's a really well done song. I'm a huge Jimmy Buffett fan, and this sounds a LOT like his older stuff.

That was awesome, Billy! Your guitar and voice are soothing and perfectly fit the narrative you've made. Ace work!

I like where you took this song, Billy. I have had dreams like this. Nice song. I hear a duet on the chorus if you get a chance.
  •  Debs 1 month ago
I sort of didn't want to listen to it until I'd written mine, but I couldn't resist the temptation. Wow, these are powerful lyrics, Billy, and the guitar is wonderfully lulling. Great job!
