It is not just an image but a 3D perspective based on Google Streetview that you can spin by clicking and dragging.

You can use their current image of the day to inspire you or click the green Go! button to get a new random location.

Additional Bonus: @owl has announced a #mapcrunch challenge so extra credit! http://fawm.org/forums/topic/8222/

WHAT: We'll have a 1 hour song skirmish and it will go something like this:

    1) At the start of the event, I'll announce a title/prompt/theme for your inspiration.

    2) All participants write, record and post a song within an hour. Lyrics-only posts are also absolutely fine. And if you take longer than an hour, PLEASE post anyway.

    3) Be sure and tag your song and also post a link to it in this thread.

    4) If you participate, please listen to (or read) and comment on the songs of all the other skirmish participants

Fun and embarrassment ensue. But most importantly, everyone has one more song!

I'm doing this. Starting late, finishing on time. Just waiting for YouTube to finish processing now.

  • @tiller2  Feb 16

  • @pabrizzer Feb 16

  • @tuneslayer2018  Feb 16

OK, let's see. It's got three verses, a chorus, and a bridge, and it mentions driving and a truck. It must be a country song.

I don't know that I'll get a demo up for this one. For one thing, I'm at work right now.

  • @skylermf Feb 16

Awesome challenge! I may not be able to listen to all in one sitting but I promise I will by the end of tonight.

I cheated and used some pre-existing lyrics, that fit the theme and the improvised backing track.

Sorry the link didn't work before. Does now

  • @tuneslayer2018  Feb 16

Heh . . . once I found out what a mapcrunch is, I pulled one up and it shows a very pretty rural scene in county Mayo, Ireland. I may get two songs out of this.

  • @thelowestbitter  Feb 16

  • @nateger Feb 17

Cool prompt! My mode of travel was time travel

    ...to go kill Hitler.

    http://fawm.org/songs/83491/

  • @tuneslayer2018  Feb 17

Man, I gotta go back and listen to all of these. The ones I've heard so far are pretty freakin' cool.

I also need to figure out how to record a voice track along with the backing track I put together for my humble effort, since quite a few people commented on it (and thank you all to everyone who did!) I know it's possible, I just have to get all the pieces talking to each other.
