Bluegrass Collaborations

Skip to the bottom

    I'm am primarily a bluegrass musician, although you may not not from the songs I post. I'd be interested in collaborating with folks on both lyrics and music on the bluegrass front! I'd also be willing to pair up folks if the response is strong enough!

    I'd love to join in. Mandolin may come out later today - first time since 50/90 - and banjo later this week. Mando is easier for me to dive right into - banjo takes some time to get the finger muscle memory going.

    Hi
    I'm interested in a collab. I believe you liked one of my songs.

  • @defaultdave  Feb 17

    I have a bluegrass (type) song that I could use some instruments on. Be a G medium tempo, could short solos.
    Will have a base piano and vocal audio Saturday.
    If anyone is interested... looking for anything, fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, whatever you play ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @misterd Feb 17

    I play a bit of bluegrass banjo/ haven't done any collaborations before and not sure how it works via computer ... but willing to give it a go

  • @defaultdave  Feb 17

    @misterd i havenโ€™t done any on here, but have used a colaboration website.
    Basically start off with the basic music track, usually a countdown or a tone at the start to sync up.
    You record audio at the start (basically putting the original track at 0 in your daw).
    Record then output just your track, donโ€™t combine it with the original.

    Thanks mate ๐Ÿ‘

    Just send me back your takes, feel free to do a vocal harmonies on the chorus.

    I play bluegrass upright bass and will have a little bit of time for overdubs this week if anyone wants some bass?

  • @zecoop  Feb 18

    @fearlessflight2014 - I do... but I don't have any bluegrass, lol ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @defaultdave  Feb 18

    @fearlessflight2014 I would love to get some actual upright bass on mine! Got a midi one right now:

  • @tan482  Feb 19

    I play bluegrass fiddle and would be interested in a collab (although I already have lots of collabs going...but there's still heaps of time right?!)

  • @spirulence  Feb 20

    I've got a weird song about robotic agriculture that could really use the replacement of a legally grey sample with some real instrumentation of some kind - please mention me somewhere if you're interested!

  • @scottlake  Feb 20

    Currently borrowing a sweet Tacoma mandolin. Two finger chords are my specialty!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 22

    Ok @defaultdave I have a window at last! Will do this afternoon.

  • @amysens Feb 23

    @fearlessflight2014 if you're still up for adding bass, I would love to have some help on this one - http://fawm.org/songs/82189/ Do you need the chords?

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 23

    Hi @amysens my time window has closed again. There's always more bluegrass for FAWM2019 though!

  • @chipwithrow  Feb 23

    @sjbatavia and I teamed up:
    http://fawm.org/songs/85539/

    A couple of 50/90s ago - I wrote a song (true story) about leaving a bluegrass band by mutual agreement. I was the guitarist, and I could do that, but I was also supposed to sing harmony. The lady who played bass and sang had veeerrry specific ideas about how bluegrass harmonies should be sung. She didn't like my "I'll just sing something a bit different (but hopefully still in tune) than the lead vocal" approach.
    But Steve and I got along just fine on our collab!

  • @markg  Feb 24

    THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY (bluegrass style)
    I could use a better singer and musicians than myself on this song, if anyone wants to collaborate. A fiddle and mandolin in the breaks would sound great.

  • @amysens Feb 25

    @fearlessflight2014 Shoot! Next year....

  • @sjbatavia  Feb 25

    Hey, I started this thread and unexpectantly got real busy with work and life. I appreciate everyone's comments!
