Not gonna lie, I'm only familiar with a handful of of the names you listed! I absolutely love the new Chelsea Wolfe record.
My personal favourites this year were:
1. MASSEDUCTION by St. Vincent and
2. What Do You Think About The Car? by Declan McKenna,
though the latter contains some material released in 2015-2016... It's still a great, consistent and timeless record, imo.

I'm going to listen to some of the above! Should be good for me.

@w1n I enjoyed the Aquaserge tracks 'Virage Sud' and 'Tintin on est bien mon loulou' very much, the others had too much brass for my liking ... Also I actually had already heard the Moses Sumney track 'Plastic' so I'm feeling very hip right now!
Oh and I made a spotify playlist of each person's top five albums mentioned so far ... it's collaborative so anyone can add albums to it. (ie please do ... !)

Sadly I didn't listen to a lot of new material. I've been in retro mode for quite some time. However, I'm curious about quite a few of these artists, so I'm gonna check a few of them out. Thanks, peeps!
@atitlan 1 week
Just going to list a few that spring to mind ...
St, Vincent - MASSEDUCTION (in a lot of people's lists already, and rightly so)
Goldfrapp - Silver Eye (Back in Black Cherry/Supernature territory)
London Grammar - Truth is a Beautiful Thing (Hannah Reid has one of the best female voices out there at the moment)
Camille - Oui (Quirky French artist who always produces something interesting)
Jane Weaver - Modern Kosmology (Blends late 60s psychedelic folk with electronics)
Moonlandingz - Interplanetary Class Classics (Great indie pop with a lyrical sense of humour)
Pumarosa - The Witch
I also want to mention Gary Numan - Savage (Songs from a Broken World), which really took me by surprise as I never expected to hear another really good album from Gary Numan again and Savage is excellent.
@ampersandman - nice to see Desperate Journalist – Grow Up on your list - really enjoyed that one.

I don't know. 2017 was a really meh year for music compared to 2016 to me. 2016 was amazing. Like 30 albums that was all damn good.
Ok, anyway. There are always some gems. Here are my picks from 2017:
There's a lot of Rock, Prog, Trance, Metal, Country, and other stuff as well.
Long story short, Amber Galactic by The Night Flight Orchestra takes all the glory. It is magnificent. I was hoping for a lot of great things from Foo Fighter's new long play since I liked Sonic Highways so much, but it was just boring. Too bad.
@ianuarius 1 week
@ampersandman I was reading your list of albums like "damn, I haven't heard of any of these", but eventually I got to Steven Wilson and Queens of the Stone Age. Hah.
@barrygoldman Here! I know Paramore! But the new album wasn't really like any of their old stuff (that I liked). Awe.
@w1n Also one artist I know, Mogwai. But I can't for the life of me remember if I listened to Every Country's Sun or not. Gotta go at it (again?).
@thelowestbitter Don't know ANY of these, damn. Oh, I think I heard a few songs by LCD Soundsystems. And my girlfriend loves Dutch Uncles. So, two!
@mrblitz000 YES! Greta Van Fleet is amazing! Could listen to Black Smoke Rising forever (and pretty much did).
@vomvorton Sigh, never heard. Gotta put to a list.
@songsville What is everyone listening to? Haha, there's so much m usic I've never heard of. Don't know any of these you listed. Gotta get on top of that playlist.
@atitlan These bands are more familiar to me, but I don't think I've listened to these albums. Thanks for mentioning!
EVERYONE, check out that playlist by @songsville, and contribute. I'm going to be going through it.

What did I listen to in 2017? Well, a lot of FAWM and 5090 music!
Otherwise some Jazz influenced music by Snarky Puppy, Bob Reynolds etc.
I also went to a lot of local gigs.
And now the professionals:
Motorpsycho "The Tower" - good album, what a concert!
Elbow "Little Fictions" - good album, brilliant concert!
Wallis Bird - intense live presentation.
Pepe Romero - a legend
Hein Cooper, Ed Sheeran - enjoyed the concerts with my teenage daughter, who also supplied me with Lorde, Halsey, Paramore and The 1975 albums 😀

Lots of Nat King Cole
Paulo Nutini- Caustic Love
Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings- soul of a woman
Grizzly Bear- painted ruins
Thee Oh Sees
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
And lots of college radio....
I haven't been paying as much attention to what is coming out, as I have still been coming across pockets of music that I had either missed or left behind for awhile...though, the Sharon Jones and Grizzly Bear are good new ones.
