Artist Bio

Influences:   Moby Grape, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Gram Parsons, and other old or dead people.

I've been playing and singing in bands and by myself for over 50 years. I've only started to seriously write songs within the last eight years, though I have some older songs. That being said, I'm am really slow and have the tendency to wait for inspiration. This February exercise should be good for me.
2017 update: Had a most excellent FAWM last year. Made the 14 song limit and collaborated with people from all over the globe. Hoping for the same this year.

I can add you as a colborator to the lyric page and then you can post!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 28

Love your sound would definitely love to collaborate! Feel feee to have a go at some lyrics that are open and I would love to look at the lyrics you sent! Thanks for reaching out!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 28

    Awesome!!! Thanks!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 28

Oh, I have read regarding the baby only now... I am sad what happened, I hope at least she is ok... I also wanted to thank you very, VERY much for the gorgeous song you made for "Blood, sweat and tears". Lovely melody and that "smoky" bluesy feel of the music including your performance suits the words awesomely! I like it very, very much! Thank you! Could you be so kind or to make the demo downloadable or to send me an mp3-file on my email address, which is
    arthurrossi18@yahoo.com
? Thanks so much once again...

Oh my, sorry for not noticing. I was on the random shuffle, and I have been commenting as the songs play without checking to see who they are by. Truly heartfelt on Vivienne's song, I'm glad I got to hear it, even if it was by random serendipity.

  • @williamhaight Feb 19

Arthur, I still intend to record Blood Sweat and Tears. My daughter lost her baby at 8 months and I am not able to record it until next week.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 13

First of all, thanks so much for sending me the demo of "You just sing" and I really like how it turned out... The melody is beautifully tender and bittersweet and I really like how you presented it... I also like the lyrical changes you did... Thanks so much!
Also, thanks for being willing to give "Blood, sweat and tears" a try... I have already added you as collaborator, but you can also re-post the eventual demo as well, if you prefer... And as always, please, feel free to alter the words as you like... I am especially not sure about the "panzer"-verse after the last comment, which might be a linguistical issue, English not being my mother tongue... "Panzer" was meant to be something like a "shell" or "cover" and not literally a "tank"...

Hiya William 😀 Thanks so much for posting the demo for our song 'Don't Hold Back' 😀
Would it be possible for you to send me the mp3 via email or something similar please ? This is so I can add the demo to the original posting of Don't Hold Back 😀

  • @siebass  Feb 13

Thanks for the kind words on I am thinking of you and In Our Home. I really dig the tone on that Les Paul, and you can always trust old strings to stay in tune. I've got some old Elixirs that refuse to die.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 10

Hey! I am very excited at hearing the demo! Thanks a lot! You can upload the song here, of course, and I am sure it turn out beautifully and as I said, you can alter any words and lyrics any way you like, so no worries... 😉 Anyway, I would love to save the demo also for the time when this FAWM is long over, so I would be very happy if you send it to me on my email-address, which is
    arthurrossi18@yahoo.com
    Thanks a lot! 😀

  • @juoppis  Feb 7

Thanks for your comment on Just Be Kind 😀 I appreciate it!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 6

Done! 😀 Looking very forward to it... Please, feel free to alter the lyrics as you like...

  • @w1n Feb 6

Thanks for the comment on Traveler.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 5

Thanks so much for the lovely comment on "Play, dear musicians"! I already liked our last collab very much. I would look very forward to it! Please, let me know if you would like me to add you as collaborator... 😀

  • @williamhaight Feb 5

    Sure my email is williamhaight@comcast.net

  • @russiasaturn  Feb 4

No worries, glad to hear back from you! I didn't quite have something in mind yet - would love to chat more. I can email you, or vice versa?

  • @russiasaturn  Feb 4

Sorry to double-post but now I'm on Goodbye 2 and I really want to do a collaboration! Your years of experience shine through. 😀

  • @russiasaturn  Feb 4

Hey William - finally replying to those who were open to collaborating. 10 seconds into Don't Say a Word on Soundcloud and I said, "Yep!" I could hear this as a low-key cover of Johnny Cash. But I also sense a tiny bit of 60s doo-wop in some of the notes. Anyway, I love the style, and I'd love to collaborate. Still open to it?

  • @ajna1960  Feb 3

Hello William 😀 I am afraid that Odilon Green had already said he'd like to do 'The Battle-Lord Of Ebonfyre', so sorry 😞
I am pretty productive, so there should be many more hopefully !
    Happy FAWMing 😀

  • @thefuneralcrasher  Feb 2

Thanks very much for the lovely comment. Much appreciated 😀

  • @oldlostjohn  Jan 30

Thanks for the compliment, William, wish you happy fawming!

  • @tcelliott  Jan 29

    Absolutely great to have you.

On a related note, to respond to Amanda (ajna1960) you'll have to click on her name and write on her soundboard. She'll not likely see your response here.

    Here's to a great FAWM 17!

  • @williamhaight Jan 29

    Will do.
Looking forward to whatever lyrics you may have. You do a wonderful job.

  • @ajna1960  Jan 29

Happy FAWMing William ! Welcome home 😀
Thank you for the welcome on my Soundboard, and yes, another colab or 2 would be lovely.
Great news re our song, keep me updated as I have a few more places I can 'sell' it once it is completed.
