Hey, just thought I'd let you know I recently made the realization you were a huge part of a new direction I'm going this FAWM. I'm certainly not as accomplished a songwriter as you but I remember a chat we had about some of the dramatic time changes you pulled off in 2007 and I'm starting some experiments that are showing me a new creative direction.

So, not soliciting you for feedback, just thanking you for the muse!

For some reason you are on my watchlist. You have better be good, or you will get off again.
  • ernie 3 months ago
Hey thanks for the kind words about my tune Hear Me Calling. I appreciate the listen.
  •  sonicdeatheagle 3 months ago
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the lyrics of my new song, too bad it won't stream. It works on my computer....

I'm so glad I finally got a song to come easily...the other 3 have felt forced.
  • kiwafruit 3 months ago
Hi Tim, thanks for the comment on Orchid. The "bell-like tone" is an interesting comparison - if you get a chance to listen to any of my other songs, I'm not sure they'll sound very bell-like wink
I'm glad to hear you liked it big_smile
  •  dimsungbrabrand 3 months ago
Very nice sound, I can tell you've been at this a while. Pearl Street is my favorite so far.
  •  mattpierce 3 months ago
HEY WILLE! (ouch, fingers hurt from screaming across the internet!) smile
  •  ptr 3 months ago
Thanks for checking out my Evolutionary Sidestep track! I agree that the site does seem to be more orientated towards singer songwriters, but it's nice to see there are some other styles floating around as well.

I'm going to actually try to do something a little more stripped down by the end of the month, possibly piano & vocals to try to demonstrate some diversity as I love the piano but never manage to write a song that is perfect for it. FAWM definitely seems like the best time and place to go for it though so hopefully I'll manage to pull something off before the end of the month smile

Hi Tim and thanks for the comments on my song Fable. I am a fan of the Beatles so it is a compliment that my song has that feel. Love your stuff especially Moving Out of Pearl Street. Has a definite Zeppelin feel to me with the Plant type vocal styling. Love the lyrics as well. Keep up the good work. Have to get over to Sweden sometime and the last trip over seas was to play at Castle Freusberg in Germany.

  •  natchdan 3 months ago
Funnily enough, I did an electronica track called Settling that was nice and slow and inspired by snow and oh here we go the rhymes shall flow.

One of the things I learned from listening to the "Smile" box set is that Brian Wilson wanted to call the second single "Heroes and Willes." He was shot down by Mike Love, and subsequently went mad.
