And -- wow! Congrats on your win! Got a few more of yours to catch up on listening to.

  • @bethdesombre  Feb 27

Thanks for your comments on The Game -- it was based loosely on a player (Pedro GonzΓ‘lez Olivares) about whom there's not a whole lot of information, so a lot of it I had to guess at or conflate from other players from that area in that era.

Thanks for your comment on "Sail Together, Sail Alone" (and several others - I am, per usual, way behind in making the rounds, which I aim to rectify ASAP). I always appreciate your close look at the lyrics, and while I've taken my share of shots at the Orange Menace this month, this one was spurred more by the sound of congresspeople standing up in their town halls to rationalize cutting a certain much-maligned program that now, suddenly, is looking good to far more of their constituents than they ever imagined.

  • @leahshoshanah Feb 23

Thanks for the comment on Feet!

  • @candle Feb 22

Thanks for listening to my version of The Road Is So Long, Lord. I quite enjoyed your version as well.

    See You In The Shadows…

  • @bhaile  Feb 22

Thanks so much for your comment on my song "Rough Patch". Didn't John do a nice job:)

Also, in case I didn't make it clear, I did really enjoy your "Bullshit" song πŸ˜€

  • @gflatminor  Feb 21

Thanks for the comment to Camel Ride. I'm glad you made it past the first verse. I was hoping it would work like a trap and have people listening before realizing what I was saying. I guess it almost backfired.

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 20

Well I can easily comment on someone who is so great....
I know how it feels to find people who appreciate what you are doing...
Fawm is so good for that...I barely get any praise outside of it...Wish I could live here forever.

  • @clioem  Feb 19

And it is indeed! thank you for your words and, well... stay tuned I guess? πŸ˜‰

  • @rebeccajasso Feb 17

thanks for the comments on "When I Was Down." There was a typo in the lyrics where I reversed lift and you. I guess what I was trying to mean in the lyric was that your dreams make you feel big and you can accomplish anything, but then sometimes you're left deflated and they are as sand running through your fingers - something that you can no longer grab onto.

  • @majordanby  Feb 2017

    Whoops. Worth two instalments.

  • @majordanby  Feb 2017

Praise definitely deserved. It also sparked a song today that I hope to record with Dan this weekend. So thank you again.

  • @davewermers  Feb 2017

Thank you for the comments on my song "Take Some Time". I appreciate the kind words.

  • @popmythology  Feb 2017

Jim, I am genuinely honored that you like the lyrics for "The Road is So Long, Lord." If you have time after you've finished your 14 songs, please do feel free to bring your ideas for the song to life. Someone else also asked to take a crack at the words. Would it be okay with you if there were two versions of the song?

  • @colgoo  Feb 2017

Thanks for your kind comments on "Bollywood Wedding". Because of what you mentioned, I included a link to the forum post that explains the challenge (for future visitors). Because it was a synthesis, the lyrics are a mishmash of three different writing styles that I tried to make cohesive.

  • @meriamber  Feb 2017

Thank you for stopping by and listening to my latest song! The mother is the stepmother, though it's not emphasised as much as it is with other stories πŸ˜€ 'step mother' didn't sound right in the lines I used 'mother'... But maybe I should try and figure out a way to add it because it is actually the correct telling of the story.

With the chorus I wanted it to mould and change meaning with each repetition (at the start we think it refers to the mother, then the witch, then at the end we find out it's referring to the children). That was my intent anyway, I don't think the witch roasting is too much of a giveaway as the story is common enough that most know what goes down 😝

  • @clioem  Feb 2017

Well, that's a rather flattering assessment of my piece. Thank you 😁

  • @jessica14  Feb 2017

Thanks for listening to my song and the constructive feedback. Will give it some thought:-)

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 2017

Thank you for your encouraging words on A Little More Time. It means so much to me. πŸ˜€

  • @clioem  Feb 2017

Really glad for your feedback, thank you! I'll be checking out your work as soon as I've got some time without other music in the background (my host is practicing her piano repertoire and I can't mix that + FAWM songs, haha!) But soon, soon!

  • @billwhite51 Feb 2017

thanks for listening to and commenting on the day i beat the hangman. i took the linear route in my first draft, but the story was too ona so i tok the slaughterhouse five approach, since the narratives covers two lifetimes, there are some contradictions in the charater that i find amusing anyway, i am happy to hear you enjoy my singing i have been enjoying your work as well for the last four years, looking forward to your new songs.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 2017

Hey! Nice to see you here! I would like to thank you for your lovely and profound comment! By the way, of course, you are right, I have already corrected it... πŸ˜€

  • @tcelliott  Feb 2017

Re: Walden. Imagery, yes. Good point. And I think you accomplished that pretty well. I don't think any of our interpretations are "wrong". Sorry if I implied that. I did enjoy listening.

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Feb 2017

I can always count on you to give it to me straight. Thanks for your feedback on The Great Divide. I think you hit the nail pretty square, pretty much how I felt about it too. But for whatever reason it stirred some kind of emotion in me so I recorded it. Somebody else also pointed out that the chorus was weak and not conclusive, so I'm gonna ruminate on that and see if anything pops. FAWM includes that fine line of pushing out a song and letting it marinate for awhile. Thanks again. Onward!

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 2017
