  • @vomvorton  Mar 3

Yes, I get a lot of inspiration from horror (and sci-fi) too! So many fun ideas to borrow 😀 I wrote a song inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers last year! I'll check out your Mandy Lane song too although I haven't seen that one (yet).

  • @rainchaser  Mar 3

Thank you for commenting on "Pity I Will Never Clean Up My Room". Just curious, at what point in the song sounded "doo-woppy"? 😀

Catherine, thanks for your feedback on my tracks! I'm currently listening to your tracks that I hadn't listened to earlier. You have characteristic voice, they leave very bright feeling. My congratulations on finishing FAWM! 😀

  • @tonyw  Mar 1

Congratulations on making the finish line Catherine. I didnt think I'd make it at one point but your encouragement and kind words about my songs really helped. Now I could do with sharper critique as I look to develop the best into an album.

  • @ihelen  Feb 28

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment on Talk To Me. I really appreciate it. Congratulations on reaching 14 songs.

  • @paulharrison  Feb 28

Thanks for your kind comments on "Turned Around"!

  • @grm Feb 27

You said: "...I found myself walking around singing the chorus to myself. That is generally my confirmation the song is a keeper."
I recently watched a songwriting youtube vid that said "If you find yourself with the song stuck in your head after 3 days, that's a good sign." - a few of my songs have that quality in me. 😀

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 27

Maybe in 50/90 (We made this ....so we can make that!)

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 27

Thanks so much for the comments on my songs !!!

  • @deena  Feb 27

You made it to 14!!! Congratulations!

  • @ryako  Feb 26

Hey, thanks for the really nice comments! That's so sweet of you!

  • @thelowestbitter Feb 26

Just checked my email and junk and can't see it there - my address is jed_howlett@hotmail.com if you want to double check it? Or you can put it on dropbox/soundcloud for me to download if that's easier? I have a bit of time this evening when I can add them in

    Thanks for doing them!

  • @dutch1967 Feb 25

Thanks for your kind comments on Dream Your Life

  • @crisp1  Feb 24

Thanks for all the really nice comments. It's a mutual admiration society we have going here! I have to tell you that the record stuck in a groove line that you like from I've Got to Move On was mine but the even better line about the colour of another man's sky, is actually Mr. Clarke's addition to the song. I do feel that I've been really super lucky to have collaborated with some amazingly talented musicians.

  • @ustaknow Feb 24

Hey, thanks for that in the Christmas song... I still don't know if I have to "duck"... not sure how folks "hear" it. So, actually, so far so good... I guess I can use it "somewhere". (Ironically, it was a heart felt period song, probably for a time there's to much, "Frosty the Snowman", and folks need a "protest" -for, song, hahhh 😝.)

-- Yeah, I don't know where that F# F Em came from... I just matched vocally what I heard in my head, to those Triads. So glad you * "got" that, -- some don't. Oh, well!

-- The end is nigh! FAWM; you got 5 more we're waiting for! ... no pressure, but, we're waiting! 😀

  • @crisp1  Feb 24

May the Muse be with you!

  • @ustaknow Feb 23

Hey!..., was reading in some forum post here, you wrote "protest" songs, here? I suppose it is possible, since, "imo" a great protest song, almost slips on undetected... -- actually a few of mine here, "could be"... anyway ..., I just wanted to comment that. If they are here, -- I can suppose which ones, myself. What I find interesting is when, in time, "all" are singing "that" song, unaware of it (as has happened with past era foks songs. Kind of a weird topic, so leave it there).
-- Was just meant to highlite that good writing element

  • @lissielou79 Feb 23

Thank you for your comments on, 'Walk out the Door' Glad you liked the lyrics.

  • @tonyw  Feb 22

Hi Catherine, thanks for the comments on TW3 and Too Much. TW3 has really foxed me - I wanted to put a lyric on it, then I decided to keep as an instrumental and couldnt play the keyboard piece - frustrating. as the days tick by I'm getting more desparate.......

  • @phlecksy  Feb 22

    Thanks for the kind comments!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

Thanks so much for your comment on Fellony and the sailors daughter. Always appreciated. Like that you feel like I draw you in. IM kind of totally into this world in my mind right now. Did not even know the chars existed a 3 weeks ago ... THanks FAWM I guess 😀

  • @crisp1  Feb 21

If you're up for a collaboration, shoot me an email. I'd love to do a song with you.

  • @billgcaldwell  Feb 21

Thanks for commenting on old will. Yeah he met an untimely end, but he was doing something he loved (chasing cats) . Of course it is all fiction.

  • @valeriecox  Feb 17

Thanks. Annabelle may need a new guitar player soon. You're welcome to take my place. 😝

  • @visiblydistorted Feb 17

Thanks for saying I have a strong voice in "Loose Troubles", that means a lot because I wasn't really sure I liked how it sounded in that particular track, as I was trying something a little different (again). I could try it with just my djembe, as that's the only instrument I own that I have any skill at 😀) Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @spunky4455 Feb 16

Thanks for listening to our song! I'm taking advantage of FAWM collabs to experiment with a wide range of styles. Glad you dug it!

  • @ustaknow Feb 15

Hey there! Thanks for the song feedback comment, -- it's funny what "ear fatigue" does... from yesterday, (if you know what I mean...) -- Yes, also, that open 9th has a dissonance I didn't hear "that" way yesterday... I"m concerned if I wait and work it all out, Feb. will be gone. There's "something" there, and definitely something missing... looking, looking ... 😀

I'll change the chords around, and reconsider the tempo... and pushing up a third. It's "funny"... I can "hear", that, -- I am thinking... in the doing of this track... that .0001 second shows up! Hahhh...

I'm just not getting "ideas" either... so, wind up rambling on a song like that and when I -- Review folks tracks here... who may not appreciate it 😉 ... no yelling yet! (My reviews usually reflect more about "me"... than the song... what else, when you think about it... And, why I comment to folks, -- you'll "learn" more for your own work, granularly reviewing others (keeping it to yourself 😀... if you have to... --- uhhh, struggling today...

  • @tonyw  Feb 14

Thanks for the lovely comment on London City Lights. First FAWM for me and it's definitely a challenge!

  • @deena  Feb 14

Me, too... that's how I've learned to play guitar... I have to practice the parts I write!

  • @yam655  Feb 14

Congratulations on hitting Century Club! 😀

  • @cblack  Feb 14

Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked Nightmare. 😁

  • @ethomas87 Feb 11

Thanks for the comment on my song, I really appreciate the its album writing not album producing comment; can be hard to forget sometimes! 😀

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 10

Thanks Again for the Nice words on our collab and My other songs!

  • @ustaknow Feb 10

Wow, sorry to many comments in a row...:
Yes, that "Anyone's Fight" ... was the next one too w/Track. As I say in the Liner Notes 😀 , it's like eathing a candy bar, but, starts as a Snickers (lyrics) and winds up a KitKat (w/music)... but, still a candy bar, at least (?).

  • @ustaknow Feb 10

Your Fender (dobro 😀 )... yes, -- Picks are amazing sound changers, even on electrics! Nice sound you got on it then!

I'm a bit bi-polar on my pics, -- just running on a bit here..., usually use, Thin Copper metal, Ice Pix or .38mm Nylon Dunlops... so thin, they can "shatter" so to speak (weird first time it happened, like a potato chip squished, --crumbs). Otherwise, it seems I'm just ripping down the strings (never thought myself a hard flat picker..., more how it "feels" in my fingers too, and hate when the pick flies outta my hand..., so unfortunate to have happen 😉 hahhh... like a Drummer w/o a spare!)

  • @valeriecox  Feb 8

Hi C! Thanks checking in on my tunes. When will we get to hear something from you?

  • @travelswithcharlie Feb 7

Hey thanks for checking out my tunes! Means a lot to me 😀

  • @ethomas87 Feb 7

    Hi Catherine 😀

Thank you so much for the feedback on my song I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and leave such lovely comments 😀

  • @ustaknow Feb 7

Hey there..., wow, I didn't know Somerville had any venues for singer-songwriters... many of the bars in Middlesex County are, "bars" and, as I know the area well, --only into cover "bands" at 120db in a 25x30ft room hahhh... 😀

Me and the wife gave up on Sat. nights out... but, will keep an eye out.

The other unfortunate thing in this too, if you noticed?, they don't let folks know well, don't affectively adv. We tried "Roxy's" in Dunellen, and hit the wrong night... I noticed, to much work, but, if one notifies around Rutgers, and unusual, the -- "old grocery stores" bulletin boards at the Checkouts... ah, who knows 😀

A few times, I considered "doing" a "hot summers night" thing, after July 4th, in Dunellen town square, or other... but seemed impossible to affectively Promote, Engage. Unfortunate since soooo many folks in the area. But, maybe, not for that. Just a "make me famous" focus... 😀 ahhhhh, where'd the '70's go! 😀 (all my almost famous friends, so many...).

Sorry, to "go on"... just thinking out loud. No lyrics percolating -- this morning... -- liked your radio podcast video! Like "Seasick Steve", -- if even get noticed "late", it's still a good run to go out with a bang too!

  • @tsunamidaily Feb 7

thanks for commenting on "just blocked myself" and "door or the couch." i hope you are having fun this year!

  • @ustaknow Feb 6

I could not get your ReverbNation to work... must have been an iPad issue, -- got it:

"Anna", and "You look down on me", -- stood out (didn't have tremendous time to do a leisure walk thru all...)

Also, clicked the Video, -- "Look down at me", 4th on Rt across top. Same song, different title from Track.

It's interesting, though, Production is everything... they sound like different songs, so to speak. I like the live version for a number of reasons, over the Track.

--- I noticed that live, what I was hearing on the Tracks, was not there...

Now, this is production commentary, not song or vocal... on some of the Lyric, if it were me, I'd have you vocally modulate a 3rd, next third higher, and let the chord sing harmony to me, so you are punching that rhythmic beat-peak. You pick the chord notes to sing harmony to the chord?

It would not change the vocal melody, imo... rather, push it, and it's not like I am saying, jump an octave, deff. not.

Anyway, it seems you might "like" more meaningful constructive comment. It's the only thing I heard there. Many around us won't, or don't know how to explain, comment, -- I'm always open to it myself, but rarely get it, -- well. I hope this is helpful in some small way.

  • @ustaknow Feb 6

Hey again..., I really do appreciate the well considered feedback comments. Thank you, again.

Leave a note when you get audio.
