Thank you for coming over to my jazzy world and making such nice comments. Mutual admiration
  •  robs 2 months ago
Hi Tina, thank you for your nice comments!
  •  mikedebenham 2 months ago
Thanks for the great comments, Tina. And I think you're right about a musical resemblance between me and Songsville. At one point while mixing our collab I said to myself - 'hmm, my voice sounds a bit strange here', only to realise it was Edwin singing. Eerie!
  •  crispy8888 2 months ago
Hey Tina! Hope FAWM 2012 left you feeling more a part of the community than in 2011. You're the second person to compare me to Gordon Lightfoot on FAWM - I'm not sure I even come close, but I thank you anyway! Hope to see you and DBG back in 2013.
  •  brzan 2 months ago
I'm good! Work really got in the way of FAWM for me this year, with 4 business trips. Also, my amp blew a tube 1/2 way through FAWM, so that messed up some FAWM ideas too. Of course, now that FAWM is over, work is slowing down and my amp is fixed. Talk about bad timing!
  •  brzan 2 months ago
Sorry Tina, I let you down! I wrote 2 different things for one little rock and scrapped them both. One ended up sounding way too happy, the other was too typical. Ahh! I will plug away some more.
  •  ange 2 months ago
I had no idea you were on here! These songs are great! Good job smile
  •  debrandio 2 months ago
lol "dont ask how old we are" duh! never, I have at least the wisdom of your eldest brother I'm sure.. smile. Thanks for listening.
  •  max 2 months ago
It's been a pleasure to listen to your songs this year @tinam.
I love that old "we've got a fuzzbox and we're gonna use it" energy combined with amazing songwriting skills. Great output.
  •  debrandio 2 months ago
please listen to *25460, it's to all you ladies who can write a sexy song. Baby.
  •  rayboneor 2 months ago
Thanks for rescuing my song from zong infamy--and for doing so in such a thoughtful way. DBG was one of my favs from this years FAWM crop, so I was super happy to see that you'd given me a listen. It's kind of funny how FAWM throws us all together, the pros and the sub-amateurs like myself. I'll look forward to your Portland, Oregon tour stop.
  •  nicksypniewski 2 months ago
Tina, thanks very much for the comment on Dream the Same Dream. Glad you're a Brian fan as well, cause that's kinda who that song was for. Just in case you're interested, this is the article that triggered the song - http://www.newmusicbox.org/articles/sounds-heard-the-beach-boys-the-smile-sessions/ If you haven't heard the Smile Box Set, you really should. It's fascinating.

Yeah, don't be sad...especially WHEN THERE'S JELLY TO BE HAD!! Woo hoo!
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
Thanks for all the lovely comments, Tina. smile

    And don't be sad!
  •  cts 2 months ago
I was waiting on Scott for some guitar stuff...but I've not heard from him. I can have this ready for listening consumption by tomorrow.
  •  cts 2 months ago
Fair enough...and no worries. I'll take care of it.

Tina, thanks for the comment on Like A Cloak and Dagger. Stones and Dylan are high compliments, so much gratitude.
  •  nightengale 2 months ago
Hi Tina, I appreciate your comments!
  •  valeriecox 2 months ago
You can have that tone with a couple tiny tweaks on a line 6 preset.
  •  downburst 2 months ago
Lost my way!? ...yeah, kind of. Not feeling very inspired, for sure. The stuff I like best hasn't made it to the finish line, anyway. But also, I'm trying to do a few new things with these collabs, different styles, different kinds of singing, etc. It's been interesting but not totally satisfying in some ways. FAWM's hard for me because I'm so busy (and tired)--I like 5090 better because it's summer. Mostly though, I'm just too tired to write.
  •  songsville 2 months ago
Yay! Across the line! Whew! Been so short of time this year I have to say I'm relieved ... very please to see you and hear so much of your musicianshop and recordings this year -- you are amazing on keyboard too ... how did you get so good?
  • arthurrossi 2 months ago
Tina, thanks a lot for your kind and funny comment!! Yes, my flat looks quite untidy at the moment, in deed... lol... I will have a lot of work with tidying it up after FAWM...
  •  rich 2 months ago
hey thanks for that commento....does that really make me loveable to women ..bein a sad man :~) you wanna go for a drink some time :~)
  • jamkar 2 months ago
Woo hoo! Many thanks for peeking into Matt's Kalimba House. It obviously struck a chord with me also! I have heard of the cold cold Winter in Europe and I hope you see some sunny days soon. ; )
  •  helenseviltwin 2 months ago
Well, I am very happy to hear your recordings anyway. Some of the most enjoyable music I've heard on FAWM this year. Well done!
  •  philmcmill 3 months ago
Thanks for your kind words on "Your Smile". The bass and drums are from Band-in-a-box, but the rest is me.
  •  brzan 3 months ago
Thanks Tina!! big_smile I forgot about Billy Gibbons, love his voice too.
  •  toms 3 months ago
Are you asking whether you could become lovable or eccentric? big_smile As far as I can tell, you are both already.

Edit: oh, I hope you don't mind I said that. Or typed it.
  •  rickamorphis 3 months ago
Thanks for your insightful comment, you're so right about the chorus...it will undergo some post-FAWM repair. smile

I was totally pretending to be Irish in Zymurgy! It was a pre-drinking song so in my simple mind it needed to be a jig! Thanks for stopping by!

  •  cts 3 months ago
So you want me to send it to you and you pass it on to her?
  •  cts 3 months ago
Would you seriously consider vocal tracking one of my tunes? Like I can have it ready by tomorrow.
  •  degausser 3 months ago
Why hello there.. I am from Billericay! How about you?
Thanks very much for your wonderful comments - I'm going to listen to a lot more of your stuff when I get a chance!

  •  max 3 months ago
hehe, I love the DbG videos too. smile
  •  cts 3 months ago
Thanks, Tina. I was actually inspired by The Black Album when I composed it earlier this month. I've been listening to it for some inspirations and oddly enough I found a bit. You seem to be moving along pretty good here. Great! I'll be back for listening.
  •  donna 3 months ago
Thanks for your comment on 'Pregnant Women Love the Midnight Rider', Tina. smile
Indeed, I have gallons of Celtic blood in my veins (both Irish and Scottish). wink

And yes, I know all about the tears. wink
  •  dragondreams 3 months ago
I was thinking of you when I did it! lol

Thanks for the kind words, Tina. I'm glad you enjoyed the listen. smile
  • kenjku 3 months ago
Thanks you for the kind words smile
  •  songsville 3 months ago
Tina, thanks for you cool comments -- you have such mental clarity, you always see the important things -- it would be fun to be inside your head ... though perhaps not in the Brothers Grimm corner of it, that would be scary smile
  •  brzan 3 months ago
Thanks Tina! So glad you were thinking of me. I've been away with work for a week, but I'm back. Looking forward to adding some music to One Little Rock smile
  •  gslade 3 months ago
hey hey..thanks for very very awesome feedback on "Broken Family".. it's always nice to get outside approval on projects you aren't sure about
  •  echovoodoo 3 months ago
Played one of your songs on the FAWMcast today: http://fawm.org/wiki/fawmcast_2012#the_daily_fawmcast_-_11
  •  boyatheart 3 months ago
Thanks for the comment on "Don't Go Thinking". Yes it is a bit cliched, but it is heartfelt (I wrote it for my wife), but as you say, the best ones are cliched. The vocals are temporary. I had a sore throat and actually tried to bury them a bit in this mix because I thought they were a bit weak. However I do make music for a living, so I guess I've got a lot of practice getting things to cut through in the mix (I should hope so after about 20 years!). Thanks again.
  •  terranoda 3 months ago
One of your tunes came up on the jukebox again today. Your songs remind me a bit of the buzzcocks, and the cheekiness especially of the monks. Would be cool to hear a female retort to one of the monks songs like 'I ain't getting any' or 'Nice legs shame about her face'.
  • gerrybhoy 3 months ago
Hi Tina, I'm so glad you like it, I had great fun, thank you for allowing me to work with your lyrics, i luv em.
  • gerrybhoy 3 months ago
That was great fun, hope you like.
  • gerrybhoy 3 months ago
Hi Tina, should be able to post "the end of the rainbow" later this afternoon, put me down as a collaberator and I will add the file to your original post.
  •  toms 3 months ago
You were on the FAWMcast this evening. smile
  •  terranoda 3 months ago
Hello there. It looks like my songs should be working properly now. Switched everything to dropbox. Love to get your opinions. Keep up the good work!
  •  toms 3 months ago
Hey. Tina, my good friend @pweston thinks your lyrics are amazing.
  •  frenchcricket 3 months ago
Thanks - I'll take the weirdness and leave the "great pop" for my collab-ee big_smile
  • gerrybhoy 3 months ago
Hi Tina, could we collab on "the end of the rainbow"?
  • randyxpher 3 months ago
I meant to get back to you before and lost my mind or something, but thanks for the comment, and yes I have posted a few things over at SA, but I haven't participated much, something I hope to rectify after this month.

Guitar in bra, huh? Think I'll have to check that out...
  •  nicksypniewski 3 months ago
Tina, thanks for the comment on Signs on the Crows. Much appreciated. You're right, it probably could stand a bridge for some variety. I'll keep it in mind when I get back to these after FAWM.
  •  rahkoi 3 months ago
Cheers for the comment, Tina tongue To answer your wonderings, pretty much everything I do this month should be more or less tongue-in-cheek, some songs just more than other (Kivikasvo being from the "more" section of the scale).
  •  valeriecox 3 months ago
Hey! Songs galore. Alright! Can't wait too get to them, but first let me thank you for being open minded enough to listen to my songs.
  •  donkimmusic 3 months ago
Thanks for the awesome comments! I'm really liking all of your music and I'll keep checking in for more.
  • jamkar 3 months ago
Thank you for you kind comments Tina. I agree about the gaps, maybe a collaborator could join in. If not I'll patch it up later. Onward!

  • tonyr 3 months ago
Aye up! It's The R Tart;-) Good to see you here, Tina.
  •  toms 3 months ago
I think the Mosrites are expensive because they are American made (labor costs are a whole lot higher than China), plus the company is not exactly well organized (at least that's my impression) - and, as you say, folks will pay that amount. smile Anyway, this guitar sounds really good through my other new toy, the little 5 watt Marshall. big_smile
  •  toms 3 months ago
Tina, I just couldn't swing the Mosrite. Just too much money. So I got this, instead:

Glad you liked the punky stuff. I like to do that. I may have to do some after the smoldering slow jams. tongue - I'm so looking forward to you bringing the rock! And might I say, your influences are alright by me. smile
  •  errol 3 months ago
I am just talking about your avatar. big_smile

Someone did a promo video with puppets too.

Not me, although, that's a good idea. I had puppets in one of my videos... big_smile
  • majidae 3 months ago
Ahh, it's true. Usually I list bands, but this year I'm going for a concept album of nerdy or geeky songs, so that's why it's been replaced. wink
Hopefully it churns out some interesting songs. Interesting is what I aim for.
  • majidae 3 months ago
A toast to FAWM '12, then! Not much a fan of vodka, but the chocolate always agrees with me. wink

They're coming to take me away Ha Ha Ho Ho He He, nice to see you around, now what's in that wicked head of your's? : )
  •  toms 4 months ago
Yes, you do need one. Of all the people I know, virtually and in person, you need it the most!
  •  toms 4 months ago
Venture or Ramones? I will give you one guess, and I will give you a hint; not the Ventures. smile

I will say, those suckers are expensive, however. Will my conscience allow me to spend that much?
  •  blindkiwi 4 months ago
Really pleased you're here too. The world needs more wicked songs
  •  tobermory 4 months ago
Haha yes! 5090 is one slog I don't have my heart in, sorry about that... but this month is a different story
  •  blindkiwi 4 months ago
    Yay, Tina
