I'm a fiddle player (who sometimes also plays the violin!) and I love to sing as well as play piano and piano accordion. I've written some instrumentals and have written one song with lyrics.
This will be my SECOND FAWM and I'm excited to be inspired and motivated to make some music. Would love to collaborate!

I regret missing you on the last two FAWMs; 2018 I didn't have time and 2017 I was off the boil. Will look forward in future.

  • @metalfoot  Feb 28

    Re: productivity in FAWM.
    1) I work very quickly
    2) I have forsworn sleep

  • @mkd  Feb 27

Aw, just realised our collab was your song 14! A real honour πŸ˜€ Congrats on a super FAWM, it's been so lovely to *meet* you and share the experience with you!

  • @whispermouse  Feb 27

Just emailed you my banjo on "Procrastination Station"

  • @metalfoot  Feb 27

There was a loud click at the start of your segment I wasn't sure what to do with so I dampened it a little and faded in on it to reduce its 'clickiness'. Thanks for being part of the corpse-collab! 😁

  • @zecoop  Feb 26

Congrats on the win!!! Finally hitting the first of your songs, and I'm remembering how much I love what you do. Looking forward to march so i can catch up! πŸ˜€

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 26

    Woo hoo for the win!!!

  • @ustaknow Feb 26

I have family in Austria. They’re always asked, where the kangaroos are? No, no kangaroos in Austria 😝

    Happy FAWM2018

I found you by the collab link with mkd.

  • @mkd  Feb 26

What a great title! Thanks again for inviting me to be part of it, loved it!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 26

no one is more suprised than i am - i was wondering where 14 would come from!!!!

  • @haim  Feb 24

Hi tan, I'm sending you a mail now.

  • @majordanby  Feb 24

Oops, I didn't realise you'd already collabed on this one. No offense @tjeff πŸ˜€ (Just listed to it and the ukulele sounds great).

  • @mkd  Feb 23

Definitely up for trying adding harp to your tune! Have messaged you via fb πŸ˜€

  • @wistah  Feb 21

I would love to collaborate. Please send me an email, link in my bio and we can discuss off line.

  • @mkd  Feb 21

Thanks @tan482! You have so much fun ahead of you when your little one starts to talk!

  • @majordanby  Feb 21

Ah yeah, you totally busted my zong 😜
Thanks again for the violin work on the last track, I just listened again in my headphones and it’s great

  • @mkd  Feb 21

Wowser, what a talented family you guys are!!! That is one lucky kid to have you both for parents! Random question for you, but you don't know the McTrusty family do you? My nephew is in Australia right now (I know, it's a big place!) but when I looked him up he's only an hour from you, up Springfield way! Would be so funny if you knew the family he's with!

  • @abudabard12514  Feb 21

Thanks for enjoying my tune! So glad you liked it, can't wait to give yours a listen!

  • @repsurepa Feb 20

Thank you so much for your comments! πŸ˜€) and very pleasing to hear that the violin thing wasn't such a bad idea! I'll try to make a third one as well with the violin, since it was so much fun!

  • @fonte  Feb 20

I wish I did! I know 2 people with tablas but not sure they quite know how to play them....;-)

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 20

thx for your comments. I loved the lyrics as soon as they hit the paper. And was delighted when tjeff brought them to life- and didnt he bring them to life!

  • @mkd  Feb 19

Aw, thanks for your comment on Sleep Song! I LOVE that it put your son to sleep, and in your morning too! (It’s 10pm here right now, ha ha!) 10/10 for the spot at the the end πŸ˜ƒ

  • @mkd  Feb 19

Oh wow, that would be amazing! Not quite sure how it all works, but yes, certainly up for it! Eek!

  • @igg  Feb 18

Hi there! Take a look at :Ghosts of Nashville and let me know if you would like to collab with some fiddle and vocals....

  • @mkd  Feb 17

Thanks for your comments on my latest two! A time-capsule indeed... They love them currently, though I can envisage some cringing as they get older. The coffee one is probably more accurate to my life with the kids than the calm, collected mum-image I've been conveying in the other songs, ha ha!!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 17

Thanks very much for your kind comments on "'Uke it Out!"

  • @benschiem  Feb 17

Hey Tan, I posted a Sitar Song, and I would be happy if you give it a try πŸ˜€

  • @tootoobee  Feb 16

Great πŸ˜€ Maybe just mail them to me?

  • @misterd Feb 15

I really enjoyed listening to your tune 'waltz in A' this morning -the music is timeless & soothing .

  • @benschiem  Feb 15

oh yes I would love to, shall I give it a try or do you have something in mind?

  • @leah0k  Feb 14

Thanks so much for the comment you left on Lost at Sea! 😁

  • @tootoobee  Feb 14

no, prompt would not be cheating, we can do anything as long as we make the song together πŸ˜‰ Not sure about a prompt though, but you're living at the opposite side of the world (I'm in Germany)? Does that inspire you?

  • @acacia Feb 14

British Columbia originally! A few localities 😊 Thanks for the lovely feedback

  • @tootoobee  Feb 14

Hi πŸ˜€ Yes, just throw some lyrics at me and I try to put them to music.

  • @acacia Feb 14

Heyyy back! Yay Australians in FAWM πŸ˜€ I'm a cheater Aussie though... only been here 10 years. Still a Canuck πŸ˜‰ LOVE Liz Frencham too!! You've got some awesome influences... stoked to listen through your tracks!

  • @tsunamidaily Feb 2018

You are not paired with anyone yet in the random collab. I usually wAit until I have a few folks to pair up before I do so. I’ll post on the thread with the results and it will show in your feed. I’m off today but my father is getting out of the hospital today so I will look at how many people have expressed interest later today. I’m at the hospital now.

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 2018

Thanks again for kind words on the tracks! Glad you like em!

  • @unclephilly Feb 2018

Thanks for the kind words on my song Sunday πŸ˜€ Children certainly are an inexhaustable source of inspiration, I just put up another song about my daughter!

  • @jani Feb 2018

Oh my gosh! I'm totally into that idea πŸ˜€ I will make them downloadable a little later today. Let's collab!

  • @aneil Feb 2018

Thank you for your comments and more being a Dad of 4 boys has certainly been an inspiration for my life love and music. If you send an email to me on alexneilmunro@gmail.com I can send u a track or check out my sound cloud or reverberation acc Enjoy Fawm & enjoy every moment with the kids!

  • @annayarbrough Feb 2018

    Thanks for your comment!

  • @mkd  Feb 2018

Aw, thanks for your Homework Sucks comment - grinning from ear to ear now!

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 2018

Thanks a lot for the comments on my tracks! Im glad you liked them!

  • @quork  Feb 2018

Thanks for your comment! Harmonica is definitely my best instrument.

  • @mkd  Feb 2018

    Aw, thank you! 😊

  • @mkd  Feb 2018

Definitely! I’m useless at being creative without a goal in mind these days! Motivating myself to do, without something to aim for is practically nonexistent for me now. I’ve not written a song in years. That’s why I’m so delighted to have FAWM - 3 songs done in 5 days means I’m already a winner!

  • @mkd  Feb 2018

Thanks for your comment on Peekaboo! Re fitting in music around children, we just made the conscious decision to not let our own lives stop when they came along, so our eldest came along to all sorts of gigs, rehearsals etc when he was younger. He was very flexible, and still will go to sleep wherever we tell him is his bed! I haven't done that so much since having two, but I'm very blessed to have such a supportive other half to still get out to rehearsals and gigs regularly. It helps that music is my living too, so it can all count as professional development!

  • @asladders Feb 2018

I am! Thanks for connecting. Looking forward to lots of song ideas and possibly a collaboration or two this month.

  • @haim  Feb 2018

Great, thanks, I will be in touch with you as soon as I have something on my mind... Looking forward for this! and for your other songs.

  • @igg  Feb 2018

I should have something for you today or tomorrow.....:>)

  • @haim  Feb 2018

Hi tan482. I would really love to collaborate with you..... Would you like to play the violin in one of my songs? I'll write a song and I'll have parts for you to make violin solo or something like that...

  • @igg  Feb 2018

Thanks for your wonderful comments on "So Far Along Your Way"....I'm glad you enjoyed the song....Let's plan our collab.....?

  • @mkd  Feb 2018

Thanks for your comment on Mother Song! Although recorded separately, the β€œMum!” interjections felt very natural as I’ve heard it so many times when I’ve been practising! Hope you’re having a good time of new-motherhood!

  • @rachelmcclean Feb 2018

Thanks so much for the review! πŸ˜€ I think you're right - I think the shock works, I think I just felt like I'd said it a *lot* of times when I was recording, haha... Happy FAWMing!!

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 2018

Thanks for reading my lyrics Tan. ❀️I’m a bit frustrated to be without any tenor guitar, piano or acoustic bass but I’m just gonna keep sketching out songs until I get back home to make some demos.

  • @mom23gals  Feb 2018

Thanks for listening to The Puzzle and for your kind words. Wishing you a wonderful FAWM, and looking forward to your violin work. We violinists/fiddlers have to stick together!

  • @the3queens  Feb 2018

    Let the FAWMing begin!

  • @mleverette  Feb 2018

    And happy FAWM!

  • @mleverette  Feb 2018

Thanks for the welcome & encouragement! I'm nervous but it's gonna be awesome.

  • @arodee Feb 2018

Hi hi!! I’m all in this year, I can’t wait to hear your music!!

  • @kovbleu  Jan 2018

Hello, hello! Have an awesome FAWM! I look forward to hearing your songs. πŸ˜€

  • @susyblue  Jan 2018

Hi Tan, I'm a little late to the table (well actually we'll still ahead time wise, yeah southern hemishphere!) but yes back on board at this point! Happy fawming, looking forward to hearing your tunes πŸ˜€

  • @tamsnumber4 Jan 2018

    Happy FAWMING!

  • @wistah  Jan 2018

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing yours as well.

  • @jacobeverettwallace  Jan 2018

Cheers to a great FAWM! Yeah, I credit Liz with giving me the confidence to step out with my music when she randomly offered to add double bass and harmony parts to a song I wrote a couple years back.

  • @tinattd  Jan 2018

Happy FAWM! Fiddle and accordion seem like a good mix!

  • @timfatchen  Jan 2018

Tommy Armstrong--"Marla Hill Ducks". Don't recall who the fiddler was. https://youtu.be/5GBD_P_0aEI

  • @timfatchen  Jan 2018

I wince and my just-avoided-amputation ring finger winces too at any mention of fiddles. I am soooooo out of practice. Looking forward to fiddle and voice! Write lyrics too. Do you know of Tommy Armstrong?

  • @spinhead  Jan 2018

Nobody but classical players and obscure bluegrassers play them. I just want to transfer my tenor guitar skills to a double-coursed instrument.

Here's a few videos: Chris Thile is a lot of fun.

The Gold Tone, the only economical model mass produced:

And Mike Marshall who is as funny as he is talented:

Bluegrasser Sierra Hull plays octave mandolin a lot, but the lowest note on that is G, higher than a guitar's low string, and the mandocello goes down to the C below a guitar's E which would give me a big fat bass (since, y'know, I'm really a bass player who's faking it anywhere else.)

  • @mishykatz  Jan 2018

Hi! Thanks for the note, its my second FAWM too!

  • @dragondreams  Jan 2018

    Hi back! 😎😊
I'm looking forward to hearing what you come out with!

  • @spinhead  Jan 2018

Fiddle AND violin. As my buddy @pegleg would say, "imPRESSive." (As I would say, o ho aren't we witty?)

I came perilously close to getting a violin last year, but when that fell through I realized I really wanted a mandocello.

  • @cts  Jan 2018
