Hello, Steve! Thanks for adding me to your watchlist. YES, I am interested in collaborating! Not sure how this works in the FAWM world. Got any tunes in mind for the lyrics I've posted? If so, please let me know!

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. smile I chose Wes Anderson purely because he's my favorite director. I had no idea about him possibly reworking that French film, but it would be great if it came to fruition. I actually thought of something for my half-song that will (hopefully) be stylistic like his movies, but thank you so much for the offer!

Also, purely out of sheer curiosity, which of my songs were you interested in?
  • meganthewriter 3 months ago
Yes, I would be interested in a cowrite. It'll be my first! Feel free to write music (it sounds like that's your forte) to any of my songs, 'cause I sure can't. …That IS how a cowrite works, right? Forgive me, I'm just a fawmling.

Hey Steve, yes, there actually was another version of "Less", but you should still feel special. Your rendering of it was spectacular!

hi steve, forgive my ignorance, but what is a zong, and what is busting it?
  • dawnxianamoon 3 months ago
Hi Steve, I haven't toured out on the West Coast yet, but there's a first time for everything! Maybe I'll be able to set something up.

Did you see this message on my page: "I actually heard it possibly going a couple of different ways... like some shrieking Dio thing, or like Desolation Row! So try it the way you feel comfortable with..." I'm not sure I understand yet how this site works. I'd just add - i think something like this (basically melodrama) is funnier if it's done totally straight, as if you were Doing Masters Of War, or something... you're communicating a very serious, ominous message to youngsters that don't know better than getting into an abandoned house, then when one of them gets killed - "hey, I know! Let's separate!" you got to larn them young'uns. Very serious message.

Hmm, you might have a good point there...I think I'll change it, hold on...:D Thanks!

    Thanks on The Roses song.
The story really follows the book pretty closely is the reason I set it up that way
    I see your point though

Oh Steve, it's not that impressive. 3 of them are just lyrics and two of the demos are instrumentals. (Plus I'm trying to get a bit ahead as we have out of town guests next week for 7 full days - that wouldn't be so bad, but they're staying in my studio/spare room!)

...and I forgot to note-- that state would be California. smile Heh... Good people DO make a state a good one to reside in. For me, it's a matter of TOO MANY people. I grew up being able to drive for 5 or 10 minutes and not have more than a few people within a few miles of you. I miss that...and a few thousand other things...

Thanks for the comments... smile I had never thought of a "civil war" connection with blue and grey in the same line.

Hi Steve, thanks for stopping by... You can tell the writer of Afternoon Delight, that song made an indelible imprint on my brain and most definitely was a catalyst for me being so attracted to making music. The way those harmonies stroked my 10 year old brain was amazing. The funny thing about it was that I had no idea what he meant by "afternoon delight." ...haha!
