Absolutely! I only managed to finish this year by the skin of my teeth, so I know what you mean about feeling swamped! Next year for sure though. smile
  •  cts 1 week ago
I'll keep a keen eye (and ear) for it... wink
  • girlfriend 1 week ago

  •  heavyhedonist 1 week ago
re: putting melodies in them--secretly, i do. ssshhhh.
  •  heavyhedonist 2 weeks ago
of course you know, when you give a woman what she asks for, it only encourages her!!! Thanks for encouraging me.
  •  heavyhedonist 2 weeks ago
you seem to pick up the mood of my songs so easily and then push them to a higher quality, Steffan. Can i gush a little? Champion is fantastic-- that great horn call sound in the middle, the understated pain, the rep of the chorus, which i heard in my head but didn't bother to write down. I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Thank you! You made my morning+
  •  heavyhedonist 2 weeks ago
did you say you needs songs? i got songs---
  •  Phil Norman 2 weeks ago
I doubt there's a chance of me finding time or inspiration this weekend, but let's plan on a collab next FAWM or maybe 50/90 if life allows me a little dip in the summer waters again... whaddya say?
  • You got some soul sir, epic stuff, love it all. Thanks for giving my stuff a listen smile
  •  cts 2 weeks ago
I meant it, Steffan. And I am glad I could add a bounce to your day. Peace, bro.

    Holla.
  •  Charlie Cheney 2 weeks ago
Steffan, the train gets in to NOLA at 3:30pm. I'm cool on text messaging, though limited in my skills. My cell is 231-four-oh-eight-5813. I'm up in Jackson Mississippi tonight and tomorrow night. The train leaves Jackson at 11:20am (Amtrak).

I'm fine hanging out or catching a bus or trolley up to your place too, no worries. What's your address so i can google map it? my email is charliecheney [at] gmail [dot] com
  •  Kirsten 3 weeks ago
Glad you're back!! Damn, you must have had a hell of a Mardi Gras.
I don't think I'm shooting for 14, just "as much as possible". But look at you, taking only a day to catch up to me!
  •  AXL 3 weeks ago
Hey Steffan. Thanks for the suggestion. Strangely enough the edit form doesn't have a delete button.
  • maxbjornson 1 month ago
Hey Steffan. 8> <- (thats supposed to be a heart)
  • dmedman 1 month ago
Love it...the vocals match the angst perfectly! And, if you ever become famous and are someday asked to sing at the Super Bowl when you're really old, it will still sound good!
  •  kathy moran 1 month ago
Hi, Steffan - thanks for the comment on "Hey, New Orleans". I've got the demo up now in case you'd like to hear it.

I didn't realize you're from Lousiana. I'm so glad someone from there got to hear this song!
  • nightengale 1 month ago
Thank You Steffan for your kind comments!
  •  Jharms 1 month ago
Ha, that's a good one. You did last year, with your "No you can't take my picture." Which was a great song, by the way.
  •  Frances 1 month ago
Oh god, yes, please rock out!!!
  •  Ben Carroll 1 month ago
    thanks for the comments!

as for your question: bagatelle is a table top game, where you ping balls, and they bounce around, and get caught on loops of little nails, some of which give you points. i don't think it's exclusively European or anything, just really old-fashioned. most people in England wouldn't know what they are particularly either.
  •  Kirsten 1 month ago
You need to feel better. Soon. And by "soon", I mean now.
  • bangstick 1 month ago
    I'm all about it!!
  • kenocupcake 1 month ago
Pure.... yes! Great vocal! Make note to self... record when sick.
  •  cts 1 month ago
Just checking in to see how you were doing. Hope all is well.
  • Tell me your signal chain and set up for your recording. I love the clarity.
I SUCK at the recording side of this.
I get performances I'm ok with, but the clarity of what I'm doing isn't there in the mix.

I guess I'm working on some of that this FAWM. The sonic translation.

Loved your use of keys when you hit the chorus. Subtle but excellent.
  • Majidae 1 month ago
My thoughts go out to a fellow flu victim. Your songs sound amazing, so please get better soon. And drink more citrus!
  •  MAX VANREMMERDEN 1 month ago
Hope you feel better soon sad
  •  cts 1 month ago
Dude...seriously? You've got a case of the yucks? Aw man...feel good. Feel better. Feel wonderful. Take your meds. Drink the liquids (H2O - leave the other beverages be for now). Rest. We care about you round these parts.

    Pure. Cool.

I Am A Bird Now is one of my all-time favorites. The new one is excellent, got to see A&TJ with the LA Philharmonic in late 2008, and again with Matthew Herbert at Coachella in 2009. Antony is one of those artists that's just timeless.
  • Evin Wolverton 1 month ago
    I await your sound

  •  Errol 1 month ago
Thanks Steffan. The reason I was stalking your wall was to make sure that you wrote a song that was played on Charlie's show last night.

    It's documented here:

Did you do Picture? Just wanted to make sure I got the right guy. big_smile

  • Kenny Hyslop 1 month ago
Thanks man. We ROCK!! \m/ \m/.
The guy on the right in your picture looks like Russel Brand.
  •  Errol 1 month ago
Heh, your pic reminds me of Weird Al... doing a parody... of that numb song...

No reason, other than that's what I think of as opposed to the actual video...
  • Wash Away 1 month ago

Charlie's coming to New Orleans on his tour? That's awesome! I wonder what Chu Chuck Of The North will make of The Crescent City. I'm jealous.

Suggestions? Stock up on cheap beer and pancake mix. Gauge how long you'd like him to stay, and purchase accordingly (he won't leave until supplies run out.) Be forewarned, if he finds you've made a run to the grocery store, his intinerary/tour schedule may be subject to semingly random and mysterious changes. Under NO circumstances should you lend him any money.

Also, get him to assist with tedious home improvement projects you've been putting off. He's a great, entertaining guy, save the few aforementioned quirks. That's it...good luck.

Steffan Pitzel, i must admit your music caught my ear last FAWM, and i'm sure the same will happen this time round.
