Bio

I have been writing and recording for 7 years now. I released an album in 2009 called 'Conchology', which is available at CDBaby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/simonwaldram - Plus three tracks from the album are available for free download at LastFM: http://www.last.fm/music/Simon+Waldram/Conchology

I don't have any set plans for doing FAWM, but here are a few things I'm thinking of trying out:

Use electric guitar rather than acoustic on most tracks
Use lots of alternate tunings
Use lots of percussion
Use as many different instruments as possible
Experiment with different vocal voicings
Be noisy
Don’t be too picky with ideas

Yes, with my head smile I fell down a set of wooden stairs and when I got to the bottom, by which time I was on my knees, I smashed into the door with my head. Subsequently the door flew open and I dropped out onto a very cold, and unforgiving, tile floor. These things happen to me on a regular basis, I think it's part of who I am! Clumsy.

How are you getting on my dear?
  •  Marie Tueje 1 month ago
Uh...you're right, I think we met on MySpace, but one or other of us found each other through or something (perhaps that was just a happy coincidence). Anyways, really enjoyed "Games", structure and ambience reminded me a bit of early Stereolab - which is a very good thing. smile

Hey Simon, good to see you on here. I almost forgot that this is where I found you... or did you find me? Hope the album launch went OK... am almost out of time at the internet cafe, so will have a listen to your song later!

I battle with my voice Simon, it's odd, sometimes it's good, sometimes it drives me mad. Do you think you might be trying too hard? What do you struggle with the most...send me a message at fb if you like. You're doing well, you have a song on your page and it's a good one.

Thank you SO incredibly much Simon!
That was really sweet, I struggle so much with my music and it means a lot to hear things like that.

Song number one is up smile

That's always the balance - too literal? Too cryptic? Sometimes it can be specificity of an emotion instead of an "event" detail. I like cryptic, but something has to sock-it-to-us too, and that's the challenge, I find.

Good to see you! Let me know as soon as you post a tune, pls big_smile
