19 year old singer/songwriter from England. Ready to jump into FAWM 2012, but probably not going to play a big part this year due to university study. Will try to do something, though. One more song is still a victory.

UPDATE 26/2/2012 - I can't believe it, but I somehow completed FAWM

I might as say thanks for writing that song. It touched me deeply because I've lived it, in more ways than one - well, minus the whiskey, I don't drink that stuff. smile Thanks. It's a fantastic song.

Thanks very much for your comments on "FEAR". Very much appreciated. @johncrossman really brought this to life with his lyrics and vocals.
  • randyxpher 2 months ago
I understand... it was probably a pipe dream for me to have time, too. We'll have to do something in July.

    Congrats on winning!
  •  johncrossman 2 months ago
You win!!! That's awesome. big_smile And thanks for all your kind comments. I realize stopping by that I've only listened to Strange Skies and that just seems wrong. I can't listen at work, but I'll come back and have some listens.
  • samhealer 2 months ago
I'll check back and have another listen to P&D in a couple of days, then smile
  •  bethdesombre 2 months ago
Hi Shady: If you're curious about what became of your song after it morphed through me, 'tis here: http://fawm.org/songs/29294/ Thanks for giving me great material to work with!
  •  bethdesombre 2 months ago
Thanks, Shady -- don't need the chords after all; I came up with something close enough from just listening. Thanks, though!
  • randyxpher 2 months ago
Hey Shady, thanks for the comment - I wish I could play like Ry Cooder! I meant to get back to you a few days ago, but things been crazy.

I don't know if I'll have time to do a collab between now and the end, but as I haven't done one yet... whaddaya got in mind?
  •  bethdesombre 2 months ago
Quick Q: I've dropped into morph4 after you (replaced someone else); any chance you have the chords for your song (Maybe Some Would Call This Freedom) handy to pass on?
  • mikecreeth 3 months ago
Hey Shady. I would like to do a collaboration, but unfortunately I won't realistically have time this FAWM. Work isn't leaving me with much or any free time during the week, and I'm going to be away this weekend. It unfortunately also means that I won't have time to finish any more songs.
  •  debs 3 months ago
Holy wow - that was so quick, Shady!
  •  debs 3 months ago
Hi Shady - let me know you're still up for the morph, yeah? You still have 3 days but the chain is moving pretty slowly so I wanted to make sure you're good smile
  • thedustcollector 3 months ago
RIGHT. *27005. Sorry it took so long!
  • thedustcollector 3 months ago
Halloooo! Just letting you know that the morph song IS coming, life is just refusing to let me record it. It'll be over to you in the next couple days, sorrysorrysorry. Hoping to get it done tomorrow. (I may commit ritual suicide if it isn't done tomorrow. It's driving me mad. I'm getting heartily sick of it.)
  • ilayschipsana 3 months ago
Ooh, sounds complicated. I will try though big_smile

(I forget... am I supposed to prompt you too? Then in that case, I prompt you to write about a bad morning.)
  •  dragondreams 3 months ago
I'd just started on Drinker's Waltz when it all went dark in here! Typing this on a mobile by candlelight. I'll catch up tomorrow, Shady. Sleep well. smile
  •  dragondreams 3 months ago
Shady! I just realised I've neither shouted "HI" on here, nor listened to any of your tracks yet!

    Will remedy that immediately!
  • mikecreeth 3 months ago
Thank you so much for your very nice comment! You have a good ear. Cut it out isn't drop D, but it does use chord shapes in C with capo 2, so it is actually in D... if that makes any sense. Its not alright is capo 3. My 3rd song however is in drop D. Also, thank you for introducing me to John Martyn, I love that song you mentioned. Happy FAWMing!
  • adventuresofmimi 3 months ago
hilariously, I wrote "Bobba Fatt" on the ukulele big_smile
  • jocelyn 3 months ago
Mama Said has a demo now. smile
  •  johncrossman 3 months ago
Hey, thanks for the note. Good to see you back too!
I'm flattered. That tune you mention was the first song I wrote for 2011's 50/90. You know, I was also supposed to send you music from a collab that Nancy and I did a long time ago about Cutting Onions. Bad on me. sad But yeah, I'll send it on over, it just may not be in the next couple days. I'm flattered. That tune was the first song I wrote for 2011's 50/90. (wait, did I imagine it? your note mysteriously shortened) smile

I'll return to check out your tunes shortly.
