Bio

I have been writing songs for over 20 years and have 3 albums of my own out with Dandelion Wine (Circles in the Grain/Cheap Hooch/Face on Mars) and have worked on a dozen others for people in Canada and the U.S. I am now performing music with my wife as Stone Dragons. I was drawn into filk music (the music of science fiction and fantasy) over 30 years ago and have been an integral part of the family ever since having been a musical guest at many filk conventions from the U.S. to England to Germany. I am also part of the organisation committee here in Toronto for our local filk convention called FKO (Filk Ontario) which has musicians come from all over the world for a weekend of concerts, workshops and open music circles.

No banjos. I think what you're hearing is a sort-of honky-tonk piano thing. I mixed my guitar a little too hot so it's harder than it should be to pick out the background instruments.

Re: Spare Parts.

Thanks, but.... If I need to come up with something for my "half-song" this month, I think I'll re-use the lyrics and try to make a completely different arrangement. Yesterday's version might have sounded better with only voice, bass, and drums. The other instruments were OK on their own but I didn't get them mixed in very well. Then I ran out of patience.

Glad to be back for another year at FAWM and hope I write some good ones. One I wrote last year called "The Big One" has been requested by Discovery Science Channel program "The Meteorite Men".
