Bio

The first thing you should know about me is that I love Jesus. A lot.
I'm also a college freshman who dreams of becoming a doctor and travelling the world providing medical care for those who don't have access. I love travel, music, photography, writing, running, and hiking. I play the piano proficiently, the guitar mediocrely (I think I made that word up) and am learning the ukulele, so expect appearances from any/all of those three in my songs this month.

This is my third year doing FAWM, and I won both of the other times. I've also done 50/90 twice; I won the first time but had to back out 20 songs into the second.
I wavered a lot when I was trying to decide whether it was a good idea to do FAWM this year. I'm taking 18 college credits this semester in addition to my job and other obligations, so it didn't seem to make a lot of sense to add FAWM to that...but then again, does FAWM *ever* make sense? So I ultimately decided that I have nothing to lose--as Negasi told me, writing even just one song is better than none at all.
So we'll see how it goes.

Hi Shannon, thank you so much for the comment you left on my page. I was so touched to read it. I showed it to one of my best friends last night and they thought it was such a beautiful compliment. Thank you. Very best wishes from England!

    Shannon,
I read your blog of Uganda. Sounds like quite a trip. Also changed the photos on "The Ant..." page of my website to one of you and Juliet.
    Cheers, marklberry

Glad to hear you had a good trip! I was in South Africa this past October doing the whole eyecare thing too; we worked on a larger scale (I forget the exact number, but somewhere close to 40+ volunteers and 12,000 pairs of glasses) and it was tremendously rewarding. That's an awesome story about the guitar! Will you be returning to Africa anytime soon?
