Bio

5th Year FAWMer. now with more children, lets see how many songs I can muster. I am still looking at a 14 song swing. Collabs yes. same group of motley goons from Dapplethroat will also be rocking it up. I will also endeavor to jukebox for one hour twice a week and comment on what I hear. Let's see if I can do that. Good luck as always to all of you on your musical journey!

This years quote:
"Use the past like a stepping stone rather than as a weight dragging you down." (As soon as I find out who said this I will credit them)

One more quote for good measure:
“Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things.”
- Ray Bradbury

Thanks for all your comments. On the Dance of Death, the instrument was a Hognose Psaltery - http://www.harpkit.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=hognose

Psalteries similar to this were in use throughout the medieval period. I built mine from the kit in the link above. Pretty easy to build and quite fun.

Thanks for your comments on The Orion Project. I thought it was too repetitive so I changed it up a little bit.

    Song-Off
Rules and Instruments / Offense and satisfaction
The traditional situation that led to a Song-Off often happened after the offense, whether real or imagined, one party would demand satisfaction from the offender. One could signal this demand with an inescapably insulting gesture, such as riffing on his guitar before him. This is the origin of the phrase "Shredding”. This originates from the 50’s, when an individual was allowed to solo. The soloist-to-be would receive the accolade of three light arpegiated chords on an acoustic, and in some cases, a ritual “Shredding” slap in the face, said to be the last affronts he could accept without redress. Therefore, anyone being slapped with “Shredding” was, like a riffing soloist, considered obliged to accept the challenge or be dishonoured. Contrary to popular belief, hitting one in the face with a headstock was not a challenge, but could be done after the capo had been thrown down as a response to the one issuing the ch

I said that quote and any other good ones that you might think of later. And any songs you think you created, will be from my collection and embedded in your unconscious, as I have foreseen it.
    Goood!
