Thank you for your comment on Her Son. Glad you liked it-thanks for listening!
  •  vomvorton 1 month ago
Hey, thanks for listening to the new version of Another Dream, and your very kind comment! I'm never sure how to get anyone to listen to anything outside of February (or July - September I suppose) so it's much appreciated!
  •  monty 1 month ago
Thanks for the feedback on Home Again. It's been a joy to work with @sherrycanary and @sheilerk .
  •  sherrycanary 1 month ago
Randy...you are one of my favorite new FAWMers. I have come back to revisit. See ya soon smile
  • tinam 2 months ago
thank you for listening & commenting on my songs smile
  •  downburst 2 months ago
Thanks for the comment on the Dandelion song. Especially the not-ponderous part! "Stately" is more what I was aiming for, so I'm glad that came across. "Ponderous" is just me being pre-emptively self-deprecating again.
  •  tcelliott 2 months ago
    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAppy Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  •  toms 2 months ago
Randy, thank you for all of the listens & compliments!!!! I promise, cross my heart, to catch up with my listening, and your stuff is at the top of the list!!!! The brilliance of Space Monkey Mafia is entirely due to @mattblick, of course! He took an OK track and turned it into something special! Kinda like another collaborator I know...
  •  rickamorphis 2 months ago
Thanks for your comments Randy...much appreciated!
  •  downburst 2 months ago
Aw, thanks for the nice comments!
  •  skullcrush 2 months ago
It was a pleasure to play your song! I had another of yours (Strange Skies) in line too, in case I'd run out of songs (which never happens, though). It's great that the FAWMCasts can be listened to afterwards since my timezone often means I'm sleeping when people on the Western Hemisphere host the shows.
Thanks for taking time to listen!
  •  madthesinger 2 months ago
Thank you so much for your comment! It's nice to know that all my practicing isn't for nothing. (: Congrats on the big win! I thought writing 14 songs was hard... you wrote 23! Wow, great job.
  •  leslie 2 months ago
Thanks, Randy! I've been ridiculously productive this FAWM with two accounts. Catching up on me would be a hefty time investment. wink
  • ajborman 2 months ago
Thanks for the nice comments "The Orphan War" was definitely one of my very favorites we worked on during FAWM.
  •  avidfanman 2 months ago

    Hi Randy,

When you have time, please stop by and see what Becca did with my lyrics to Temple of Solace. You and I both did that song in a skirmish!

Thanks for comments on my Gypsy Jazz Bossa. Try googling a chord finder and put in some of the chords i used. They are fun to play with!
  •  mattblick 2 months ago
White pizza! google....oh! Weird. Though I guess if you make it with regular bread...I don't know - it wasn't my date!! (though I'm sure if the guilty party had known about white pizza, they would have used that excuse!!!!)

    Thanks for the educational comment!!!
  •  sherrycanary 2 months ago
Thanks a lot for your comment on It Wasn't Me.
I have just started rolling this year with FAWM. Don't know why it has take so long to get into the groove. Glad you appreciated my style.
  •  shadywilbury 2 months ago
Sorry- haven't got anything together just yet for collaboration. Might not happen, unfortunately.
  •  gman 2 months ago
Thanks for the note - I think I fixed the file freak problem on It's never enough - though the rough demo isn't much to listen to anyway.
  •  robs 2 months ago
Thank you for your nice comments!

OK, what's the name of their first song? Is this a primitivist techno group?
  •  toms 3 months ago
Randy, I think you and I ought to start up a virtual band called The Binary Amish. My wife is howling at the name at this moment. smile
  •  spiritdancer 3 months ago
Thank You for your comment on Rise Up. I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for listening! wink
  • kiwafruit 3 months ago
Hi Randy, thanks for the comment on "this could've been a love song". I'm so glad the pop/r&b feel came through - I was worry the mistimed second uke track might distract neutral
I really enjoyed working with @McTown's lyrics, they we're great smile

  •  johnthomasmumm 3 months ago
Hey, would you mind if I post your one-chord challenge entry on my blog as an illustration of the variety of good ideas one can come up with over a single chord?
  •  captainvulpine 3 months ago
I'm so sorry about you're dog =/ I've never even had a human friend in my life for that amount of time, so I can't even imagine. But here's to brighter futures friend, and the memories! *raises glass*
  •  toms 3 months ago
YOU THROW TIM HORTONS AT CARS????!!?! Yep, that is conclusive evidence for advanced senility. Probably something in the water down there.
  •  toms 3 months ago
Huh - lying about your age, and I am supposed to believe you about something as peculiar as lemon-filled doughnuts. And then you mention that crunchy creamy place, which is beyond heresy. What! Have you no Tim's? I thought one could see Canada across the lake...
  •  toms 3 months ago
The Connells - a name I had not thought of in a while. smile Yes, you are too old, once you hit 54 you are too old, unlike, say, me, since I am 8% younger than that.

Edit: wow, my post shows no gratitude at all...thanks for the comments, my friend, and keep on churning out those awesome licks. smile
  •  toms 3 months ago
Really? Lemon filled? Is that legal? Must be an Ohio thing. You people are twisted down there. Just remember who won the Toledo War. Anyway, lemon filled is not acceptable, so I can't provide that particular doughnut. I will have to think of a substitute. Don't worry, you will thank me later.
  • nadia 3 months ago
aw, shucks! thanks for your kind words about "what and odd thing to say" *24756 --i'm actually out of shape physically and vocally right now, so i'm feeling really self-conscious about my voice right now. i appreciate your kindness!
  •  cheekmeat 3 months ago
Thank-you for your kind words about Combover. I don't wail on distorted guitars often enough. Is there such a thing as enough?
  •  toms 3 months ago
If anyone here would know what the Orange Squeezer was, it'd be you. smile This one has the original 4558 op amp. smile

  •  bethdesombre 3 months ago
Hi randyxpher (or RC?): Thanks for listening to my song. My Sophie was literally in surgery for a brain tumor when I recorded my song this morning; we just got a call that she's out of surgery and that it went well. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  •  frenchcricket 3 months ago
Thanks man, I'm an all-you-can-eat guy when it comes to songs. Having said that, I think I'll go for side salad next time (stripped back and acoustic), if only to cut back on those musical carbs. I think I broke my metaphor sad
  •  mattpierce 3 months ago
Thanks for the comment on my dulcimer jig no.1!
Glad you're fawmin this year! smile
  •  valeriecox 3 months ago
Thanks for the comment. I guess you are right about the inevitable Alanis comparison on 'Surrogate,' but it didn't occur to me until someone mentioned it, and I wasn't going for that at all. Strange how that happens.
  •  tiedyehero 3 months ago
haha its funny, someone commented on that last year too. I LOVE Gentle Giant. I write nothing like them, they are geniuses, but hey. Their influence probably makes it in there somewhere... subtely.
  • elijahmc 3 months ago
hey buddy. im new too. nice to meet ya smile
  •  tiedyehero 3 months ago
Thanks for the note. I appreciate it!

RC!! There you are! Yay! I used the search term "RC" on FAWM but had no luck tracking you down. Glad you found me. I'm looking forward to all those irresistibly catchy original tunes you churn out!! smile
  •  toms 4 months ago
Yes, you are screwed. According to Federal Regulations, influences must include a minimum of 7 recognizable artists, 3 quirky choices known to at least 15% of the viewers, a tongue-in-cheek entry, and 2 out of the following 10 categories: nonmusic public figure, political theorist or activist, imaginary friend, historical event, Jimi's guitar, sticky buns, candy, a family member who lives in another state or country, and 2 other categories to be determined by random methods as specified in Treasury circular #33(b). Cleverness and neat handwriting count!

Welcome to FAWM 2012 and FAWM in general. I'm G Slade, resident hip hop/rap/synth pop guy. I'll be doing more listening than writing this month, so I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to contribute this year.

    Good luck in Feb!
