Bio

I am a designer, musician, father, husband, technologist on the left coast in Hoquiam living a small life via homeschooling, gardening, & intentional lifestyle.

The asterisks (*) below indicate songs I am serious about pursuing with my band, Redbird Fever. The others, eh, fun experiments that have outlived their usefulness. Asterisk songs will likely end up on a serious recording in CD & iTunes formats, mastered, promoted, and sold. I'd appreciate feedback on them.

Also, I really like sandwiches; so if you have a sandwich come roll with me.

Collab in 50/90? I thought you'd never ask! I'm willing to offer my keyboard to the cause, at least. Oh, and you're welcome. (Note: I added you to my official list of influences on me last year. wink )

Ralph, I was just trying to make a play on words from a previous comment on clean noise floor and transmuting that into clean marble floor and making fun of audiophiles who might claim they can hear the difference between sound reflecting off clean or dirty surfaces ...

Your room sounds nice, that's all that matters. An omni mic would bring in more of the room sound if you want it. You can tune the room with mic position and duvets.

Wow, your influences read like a big old list of my favourite stuff, i absolutely must check out your tracks! Did i miss out on you last year?

My microphone: Last year, as part of its big holiday sale, Ted Brown Music had whole stacks of Audio Technica P615s (which I'm told are better than the more common Shure SM57), a $120 value, for $20 each. Needless to say, I rushed out to the Silverdale store at the first opportunity and got myself one. Since then, I've only used my USB mics for PS2 games like Rock Band. For actual recording, I use the P615. I have it plugged into a USB mixer (Yamaha Audiogram 6) along with my guitar and keyboard.

Hi there Ralph.....potato (Flav) tells me you're the man for contacting re host files... I lost files last year when my file sharing place shifted the goal posts and i just tried fileden and it's a pain in the proverbial. I have soundclick account but it doesn't play well with FAWM player. Can you advise or help? I can only offer in return a virtual sourdough sandwich with avocado, tomato, cheese and pesto spread smile

Getting whimsical with the name this time, eh? Don't give me ideas. wink

Looking forward to giving your songs a serious listen. And then several more. I intend to absorb this. I'll have to hunt down some of your influences too, especially the more obscure ones, to see if I can make them mine as well.

I have a collab idea. You send me lyrics, I send you lyrics. We each cough up demo, and double our output. But only if it works with the way you write. Send email if you like.
  •  Joel D Canfield 1 month ago
I'm challenging myself this year: it's an emotional purge year (any time the numbers in the year add up to a prime, I visit the ghosts. Not really. I just made that up.) But it *is* the year I'm gonna try to write some things with my heart instead of my head. So, it could be tough going.

Sure, prawn salad sandwiches. The little ones might be mic shy but that don't stop me from immortalizing them one way or another. With a little ketchup.
