Awww, some super kind person bought me rock hand, thank you stranger.

I squeaked a win (#456 or so)

You are a nice person who likes unicorns.
My Blood Is A Branch Of Cats.

2/18 Dealing with some pain in fingers and wrist of my right hand. going to give it rest (as best I can) for a few days to see if it eases up, probably not going to get to 14 this year. I'll try to keep up with songs and comments the best I can.

For FAWM this year I got a broken computer (apparently FAWMa Clause is kind of a dick)

Feb 2 and going shopping for a new laptop tonight. sorry if I have been unresponsive, the computer has been limping along for a few weeks.

Now living in, West Allis (Milwaukee), WI
(also know as Stallis & West Allica)

Year 4
Ready, not ready
Ready to get writing
Not ready with my recording set up.

The past year was interesting.
New house, a studio in the basement eventually, hopefully.
Going to try writing on piano this year, we'll see what happens.

1/27/18 My computer decided to take a dive, I was able to get it going again but everything that was on it is gone. So starting from scratch in February.

Here is my original blurb from 4 years ago
Been Playing guitar for like a hundred years (I'm old). Just heard about this a couple of days before it started last year, thought I'd give it a go. I'm a procrastinator by trade, so this will be a challenge for me.

  • @wacha  Mar 12

Thanks for your kind words on "Into the Ether".

  • @rustyp  Mar 12

    Thanks for listening! 😀

  • @cblack  Mar 12

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 😀

  • @mkd  Mar 11

Thanks for your comment on Time to Go! Appreciate your kind words!

  • @quork  Mar 10

Thanks for your comments on the Gospel of Thomas song. Marvin Meyer’s translations really bring out the poetry of the texts. Elaine Pagels has written some great books on the Gnostic teachings, including a fascinating one on Thomas. According to her, the term “doubting Thomas” was coined by the Orthodox Church fathers as a way of discreding his gospel. Biblical scholars also posit that Thomas is one of the earliest written gospels, and people think the author may well have been influenced by eastern mysticism. Fascinating stuff.

Yessir....Analog....You should see what I am using. I think that you might be proud. I do use digital, but try to split the difference with lots of analog stuff. Most of my music is recorded with mics. Thanks SO much for noticing and giving feedback. It does make a difference to me that you heard it. I am around for the next month or so and I will be back for some listening myself. I felt bad because I holed up over the last 2 weeks and didn't comment or listen much. I don't like my FAWM like that. March is fun for that, especially. Thanks again.

  • @rustyp  Mar 8

Hi! What monitors are you getting? I should probably invest. 😀

  • @ayehahmur  Mar 6

Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment. Long time fan of Joe Jackson, so I'm going to take that one with a lot of pride. Thanks!

  • @mauramer Mar 6

Wow, thank you for your incredibly generous comment! I'm always curious how my lyrics come across so it's lovely to know you enjoyed them.

  • @lanasolyluna Mar 5

Now that sounds like an interesting snack! Glitchy synthy bits.

  • @iveg Mar 4

You were like 25 minutes ahead of me, going through the Zongs. I would forget to refresh the zonglist, and I'd see that you had just finished posting a comment. And your comments were better than mine were going to be. So I'd have to rethink my comment. Thanks!

  • @pariskis Mar 4

Hi pipewrench, gr8 feel and tone on When The Wind Blows, nice work, thanks for listening and commenting on pink clouds 😀

  • @mkd  Mar 4

Thanks for your comment on the Dobbing in Blues! It was fun to try and do the harmonies in one take, and to actually be happy with them afterwards was quite unexpected, but I think I did stuff I wouldn’t have done if I’d “worked” on it...

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 4

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Here’s your badge. Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @lanasolyluna Mar 4

Thanks for your comment on Cat Saint. I wasn’t sure if that line about oranges worked in English. I’m Spanish people say their soulmate is their “half orange” 😊I’ve always found that so poetic!

  • @songwritingzen  Mar 3

For starters, well done on getting to the magical 14 song goal. How about we say that we both suck and we remedy this together? Time for a good listen 😀

  • @owl  Mar 2

You won!! Congrats! How did the random-show go the other night?

  • @pompeyjazz Feb 26

Thanks for the review - Much appreciated

Hi, pipewrench67. Thanks for checking in. It's been a draining month (draining year, really), and I just haven't had the energy to get anything done (and I'm having audio interface problems). I may get a thing or two up before the month's over, but either way I hope to get to some listening at some point.

  • @benschiem  Feb 17

Hei Pipewrench!! Good afternoon to you too 😀) its a busy month for me, but I see you are doing great stuff already!! good to read and hear from you again!

  • @dannen Feb 15

Thank for your comment on my Midnight On the Water. For my first song, I thought I would use an old fiddle tune. I always picture dancing by the water when I hear the tune.

  • @lanasolyluna Feb 13

    Hey!

  • @sueawesome Feb 4

that would be funny if it was sarcasm, but that would have only been so if left on music that sounded like nails on a chalkboard

    i loved it, pipe

  • @gardeningangel1 Feb 2

You wouldn't believe the weird stuff I found behind that drywall...

  • @martinneuhold Feb 2

Thanks for your kind words. Love your influences, btw...😊

  • @ampersandman  Feb 1

    Ready, steady ...
Good to see you back! Wishing you a great FAWM!

  • @gardeningangel1 Feb 1

Howdy! Yeah, I've been tidying up the place, thanks for noticing 😀 I look forward to hearing what you conjure up this year. Happy Fawming!

  • @carleybaer Jan 28

It's kid friendly for sure. My 6-year-old niece will likely be in attendance. It's a beautiful big house on the East Side, and my awesome piano-badass friend Andrea will be joining me. Let me know the best way to get the info to you (email/FB/etc).

  • @carleybaer Jan 28

Ah, thank you for the invitation! Alas, my schedule is extremely tightly packed. I'll be in Milwaukee proper for about 18 hours 😀 but still interested in a possible collab! Let's stay in touch 😀 Also, if you're interested in attending a house concert on Saturday the 3rd, let me know!

  • @dragondreams  Jan 24

    Banana! 😁

  • @standup  Jan 22

Hey there, let's get some things going in 2018.

  • @kovbleu  Jan 18

Hello again! Looking forward to hearing your wonderful music. 😀

  • @stuartbenbow  Jan 15

    Welcome back!

  • @zecoop  Jan 12

That's great - Thanks for that link. I have a lot to learn with Reaper. I never used 90% of the stuff on nTrack (after 15 years of using it) - Just basic recording, FX and edits.
