Artist Bio

Influences:   Radiohead, Stereolab, CAN + lots of others. Mostly alternative, indie.

I can play basic drum kit, simple bass lines, and some keyboard. I bought a tenor guitar last year, so I'm spending some time with that. And I got a Korg MS-20 analog synth the day before FAWM started, so I will be playing with that too.

I started trying to write songs a few years ago when my husband convinced me to do FAWM. I still don't know what I'm doing, but it's fun and I love learning.

@pfoo Ah, the song was Obsessive Thoughts About Dying In Space. Forgot to put that in there.

@pfoo Hello, my kid wants to use your song to play during a 6 minute speed paint they're doing. Basically, a digital illustration that took two hours sped up to 6 minutes, with your song playing in the background.

Can we have permission to use it and post it to Facebook and YouTube? Thanks!

Thank you for saying hello. Yes, I plan on sticking with it, as the challenge is good for me, and I love hearing what others do.

Thanks for the comments on '2 weeks', a tough subject to be working on but really appreciate getting positive feedback.

Thanks for the congrats and the comments! I forgot about food references entirely, even when a Doughnut Day coincided with FAWM and a friend wrote a Doughnut Day song. I even neglected to write about eating people when writing death metal, I'm ashamed. Anyways, I've been way less engaged than I would've liked to. Didn't have that much time to listen to others' music and write comments with all the writing I was doing.

To answer your question: Yes, a real harmonium, made by the Bina company in India. I've performed with it a couple of times at the yoga studio my wife and I co-own. Recently I took it to my daughter's school, where I teach yoga, and let the kids play it.

songwriting doesn't come easy to me either....neither does playing!!... but sometimes you just get lucky and it just shows up...lot's of stuff I look at and I don't even remember writing it!!! it's weird...the cassettes are cool cause you "have to get it done" so you just do it...consider yourself very very lucky that your partner plays and records!!! my husband isn't involved in music at all, although he is helping me with the writing as editor/proofreader.

The MS-20 Mini is fantastic -- I love mine. I use it extensively, though I don't have it hooked up at the moment. Enjoy!

  • @apertome  Feb 16

Oh, excellent! He is quite a musician!

  • @apertome  Feb 15

Thanks for the comment! Is your husband someone on FAWM also?

  • @namjunerobot  Feb 13

Hey, thanks for listening! That was actually the very first time I had ever 1) played a cajon and 2) recorded said cajon. 😀 It's not rocket science, as I bang on countertops and tables all the time, lol. I put a thin condenser (Audix f15) about a foot away from the front to get the snare sounds and a Shure SM58 right behind the soundhole in the back for the bass. I took all the low EQ out of the front one and most of the high off the back mic. Turned out great! I'm expecting Cajon soon on something from you and/or Eric!

  • @lishie5000 Feb 3

maybe you and Eric can help me with the songs!

Yay..... Welcome back and glad you have your own 4-tracking skilz now. You've got tons of skilz, and I can't wait to hear your stuff again. 😀
