This is the perfect prep activity for my annual WinterSongs songwriting camp in the Catskill Mountains of New York--Feb. 17-20 this year.
I'm a retired college prof and computer programmer, who started playing out in my mid-fifties. I play guitar, banjo and harmonica--none of them very well, but I have fun. I guess you'd call my songs "folk" or "Americana. I tend to emulate folks like John Prine, Bill Staines, Tom Paxton and Tom Lehrer. I have one CD of originals, and some day I'll crank out another. While I do have some paying gigs each year, I really do this strictly for fun.
