Bio

Hello again. This is my second crack at this.

Last year I limped to a thoroughly unimpressive FIVE (count em) tracks.

This year I hope to make a foray into mini-album territory.

2009 - Supersub EP - http://www.divshare.com/download/10336676-aba

I am also due to get wed on the 20th. I expect I will be manufacturing a brick wall of shit.

So I may be on here far more than I should...

Cheers man!! How's the skiing going? And what's this Supersub thing?

Have a good wedding, Nick! And then get back to songwriting IMMEDIATELY.

Aw alright, you can have the weekend off.

Ha! Is that deer thing a serious challenge? I may have to think about it if so.

Re acoustic question, I have a Freshman jumbo-body - it's a reasonable sound, but still very hard to capture with a mic. I usually mix it with the input from one of these that I got off ebay for £20: http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/504ii/

"Os Cara", which people have commented on the guitar tone of, was done just through the box as the mic didn't record. Recording acoustic guitars is agony.

Thank you for listening to 'Hans Gruber' and thank you for the comparison with Santana!

I've got band practice in Belper tonight!

You should totally write 13 songs about Buxton when you get home from Buxton.

Song 2 is currently just a concept and a couple of lines. Might try to get the lyrics finished today, but doubt I'll get a chance to record until tomorrow at the earliest.

Hopefully I can produce some kind of magical creativity burst this weekend!

Excited to hear your song. Wish bloody work didn't block mp3s, having the FAWM jukebox running in the background would make life much more bearable.

Best get some tunes down son. Time's a-pressing. I know this is richly ironic coming from me, but... yeah

Shall we just leave this FAWM thing until the stag do, drink our bodyweight then and each write 14 songs in 3 hours?

    Hello.

    That is all.

"calypsotic"? I think I like that too. if you can invent words like that at the drop of a hat then I'll be expecting songs SOON!

    Good afternoon, Mr. Portus.

    Hi Nick,
I remember listening to Fear of the Flock from last year.
Cool pop mixed with gamey riffs - nice stuff

Hi Nick, and thanks. Yes, we have met very briefly but don't worry - it's never a particularly memorable experience for anyone wink

Hope it all goes well this year, especially the matrimonials. Congratulations!

Crikey, sounds good! I hope it also SOUNDS good! I'm sure it does.

I'm considering getting some more memory for my PC before Feb 1st as I seem to keep running out of it mid-song, but I'll have to see what my budget of "nothing" will stretch to.

I haven't bought anything specifically for FAWM but I've got a few new things that were either bought for band adventures (big delay pedal, tiny orange amp, electric ukulele) or received for christmas (stylophone beatbox!) that I will definitely attempt to get into some tracks. How about you?

...Goes up on the web for everyone to see?? No wait I know this one, is it:
...Gets entrenched in the annals of history for schoolchildren to gaze at in wonder and fear?
  •  Vom Vorton 2 months ago
Hallo! Good to see you're on board again, despite your other commitments! I've been looking forward to this for AGES, I'm having to hold myself back.

Evening Mr P, clocking in then? Personal challenge, tune about the stag do. Preferably before you get married, but I'm a reasonable man and will accept after...
