Bio

My main instrument is bass, but I like to make noise with computers, other instruments and whatever else is lying around.
I like how digital and electronic noise can become organic and when acoustic instruments become robotic or almost artificial.

My first fawm (2008) is available here:

My second fawm is a work in progress and I'm hoping to release it soon.

This will be my third FAWM and I think I am totally addicted. I like to listen to many different styles of music and with FAWM you not only get that, but the songs from all these great people are fresh out of the oven!

Thanks for listening... And an extra thank you for listening with headphones... it almost sounds like I know what I'm doing when I mix when you have headphones on... I got out my good studio headphones today to catch up on a little listening to my fellow FAWMers. wink

Thanks for the comment on "Strange Lights in the Sky" -- actually it took me a while to configure that synth! I heard something similar on another track at FAWM, and finally managed to duplicate it (up to a point). The original was far more expressive, so in version 2.0, I'll try to make it more velocity sensitive. It should portamento on slow strikes but filter-resonate on hard strikes.

Hey, thanks for the song comment! smile
  • Nothing but the good ol' fruity loops for this boy
  • the production is great, the bass sounds great, this music is awesome.

Thanks! The drums on the track you asked about are loops I used in Logic.

Hey, another bass player! Greetings and thanks for the comments on "Sailing Into Night Time."

I wish it were a real Rhodes, but in fact it's a Roland RD-700 GX using an electric piano expansion board. I haven't seen a real Rhodes in a long time!

    Hey Ya,

Thanks for the compliments on "flower" - the pads are from Reason 4 actually, one's a Thor pad (Steven Hawking something?) and the other is a rhythmic pad from Maelstrom, not sure which. Both are slightly-altered versions from the R4 FSB.

    Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the comment. All of my synth sounds are from a protools plug in called Xpand. It's pretty useful, especially because I'm too lazy to make my own sounds!
