Bio

I started out as a geek rock junky, but eventually grew bored with underwelming Weezer tunes and have since mellowed into acoustic adage. I'm an off-the-books "music therapist", and creator of a Rock & Roll summer camp. I'm also a humble co-writer in the midwest-touring "The Northern Skies", formerly the band Drake (which is currently recording their fifth release).

Thanks for the comment! The layering on that song was a bit tricky, and I was nervous about the outcome, so I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks for the kind comment on 'Yes'! Weird to think what you can get out of an hour if you push yourself, and stop idly watching TV...
  • We had an Axe Cop songwriting challenge put out. And people responded!

notsure what a "off the books" music therapist is, but my sister is a music therapist it is an amazing thing.

That's a great sounding guitar (and you play it darn well!), and that mic is truly a bargain. Nice match for the guitar. What for a preamp?
  • toms 3 weeks ago
Nathan, what kind of guitar do you play, and how are you recording it?

    TIA!

Thanks, Nathan! Gotta write from real life, eh? smile

You're not a music therapist. Go away.

    Hey there,

OK, so here are some links to the bands I said I thought Funeral March reminded me of:

Low: http://www.chairkickers.com/discography/drums-and-guns.html (check out the Listen // MP3 link, try Monkey, for instance)

    Grizzly Bear: http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B000FS9LKW/ref=pd_krex_dp_001_010?ie=UTF8&track=010&disc=001

None of the samples are long enough to really give you the full feel, but if you like Sufjan (as I do) you'll probably love them. I'll PayPal you for the download if you buy Colorado and aren't moved.

Thanks! Actually its a "Way Past Frown" Tee (now knows as Thomas Boles(sp?)). The camp takes place up at MichiLuCa near Fairview MI. Rock and Roll camp is about to enter into its 6th year, and I'm starting one for middleschoolers called Jam Camp too!
  • toms 1 month ago
Nice hat. Is that a Wayne State U t-shirt? Where's the camp?
  •  Dan Vaillancourt 1 month ago
