I'm a 47 year old songwriter who has been writing since my early twenties. Currently suffering debilitating writers block so the FAWM will be a collosal challenge. I haven't been able to finish a single song in nearly a year.
No songs by this fawmer (yet).
Well that was another great big waste of time.
It happens. Don't be too hard on yourself. I did a fair amount of that myself yesterday and didn't add anything. Do it again today and pin some of it down?
If lyrics would help, these fawmers are full of 'em. Let us know what you're looking for. (Or, do your own thing,) 😀
Here's a tip I don't advertise much... sometimes when I listen to a song and I think, if I wrote that, it would be... (darker, less clinched, more cliched, about the other character, minor where they go major, major where they go minor, higher our lower, faster or slower...) then I write that. Guess we're full of good and bad advice! 😀 Thanks for reaching out.
I want to hear the song about how mad/sad/frustrated/resigned you are about the songs not coming, so let me know when you write that.
Found you! You can do this! I know you can...just start writing any old lines and don’t set the bar so high on your standards. Once you clear the pipes of the crappola you can get to the good stuff. But crappola has to come first. Let it flow out, go with it...
Hey, welcome to fawm!
Hi there and welcome to FAWM. Looking forward to hearing your music.
have fun! here's to getting unstuck. Cheers!
All the best to you, my friend. Remember, even if you get I, V, C, B, V, C - it's still a song. It doesn't have to be a "hit". It's that you've managed to do it, is what counts! Welcome to FAWM. Enjoy your experience.
