First time FAWMer. Swedish singer/producer/mixing engineer now living in Finland. Loves rock and metal, but anything goes as long as it's good. Student, father of two, dog owner.

I'm overwhelmed with all the positive vibes on here! Didn't think I had this many songs in me during such a short time span. I'm having such a blast writing, and I'm so glad I joined in on FAWM for the first time.

I know what you mean about withdrawal - thinking about doing my first 50/90. How about you?

  • @sbs2018 Mar 19

Thanks for the feedback on "Wise Woman" - yeah, been getting mixed reviews on the vocal effects - probably wouldn't do it again but seemed right at the time. 😀

  • @writeandwrong  Mar 5

Thanks for your kind comment on "On and On."

  • @coolparadiso  Mar 3

Thx for your comments. It is odd sometimes when you get record fever. I played what is a simple chord progression fine everytime until i pressed that red button. As normaly a one taker i was almost climbing the wall ha ha.

  • @kovbleu  Mar 2

Thank you so much for your kind comments!! I'm so behind on listening/commenting but I promise to check out some of your songs! I can't wait and I appreciate that you listened to mine. Thanks!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 28

Thanks for the kind comment on Shaded cowboy . And all the others you have been commenting on.

  • @tamsnumber4 Feb 27

Sorry I missed congratulating you on your trophy for your first FAWM, that is special and you really blew us all away!!

  • @emplate Feb 26

Thanks for the comment on "Sokeiden nektari"! Oh, you know Eero? That's cool, man! : ) It was really easy and fun to work with him. We haven't released the tracks we did with him yet, 'cause a friend doing the artwork has been busy with a lot of jobs, and we want it all done before putting out anything. Really excited about it, though : )

  • @lenigmusx1  Feb 25

    Oh my contact info-

    Chad Lenig

Send me an email and I will exchange mobile etc...

    I have a reasonable
Studio at my house but also have access to an amazing studio to track drums whenever I have a project. John Orem console with a Otari 24 track 2 inch into PT HD.

  • @lenigmusx1  Feb 25

Thanks for the comments again! I am really impressed with the SE ribbon mic for the price. I am now thinking about getting the more expensive one too. Smooth high end and you can just crank the high freq EQ in mix and there is no harshness.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 25

Tack för de fina orden om Faller sakta.

  • @zoom  Feb 25

    Thank you for listening to C O R N E R, and for your kind comment <3

  • @berni1954  Feb 24

Thanks for your comment on my song "The Climb" - I know what you meant about the vocals. That is because I did the lead vocal in stereo on a very basic 8 track recorder that didn't allow me to pan each track individually. I won't do that again 😀

  • @ohkshea Feb 24

Thank you for your kind comments on “Couldn’t Care Less!” Appreciate you taking the time to listen

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 23

Yes Sir I will do it. 😀 just need to rest my ears from them and then choose 5-6 . I only have two fav as for now of them

Thats great. Usually the reason I am not listening to much to metal/HR etc is growling and the often blah-lyrics.
If there are lyrics in a song they need to speak to me.
It will be interesting following you this yer to se what you will come up with.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 23

Thank you for your kind comments on baby im lying and i am not that complicated.
I know you have a softspot for soft rock (pun not intended) I just did not know I did. I will use some of them and put up an EP. Probably not an album this time (As it takes insanely amount of time editing my own vox on bigger productions ) also I dont rwally feel for all of them even though i do (seriously insane) have at least 14 in this genre this year ...

And regarding dinosaurs I actually thought the metaphores were intentional 😀
Thanks for being so supportive and kind Marcus I really appreciate that .

  • @dorit Feb 23

Hey Marcus, I just hit you up on email. 😀

  • @quork  Feb 23

You certainly sang that song well in Swedish. There’s a lot to be said for singing in your native language. But I also admire someone who can sing in more than one language. I’ll check out some of your English songs and get back to you.

  • @aprilm  Feb 22

I enjoy the mutual support and I'd love to follow your music journey after FAWM as well. Thanks for checking out When I Need You Most. This is the first duet I've ever been involved with - writing and performing - and I am very happy with the way it turned out

  • @emplate Feb 22

Thank you for your comment on "Yön salat"! I'm very glad you enjoyed it : )

  • @benjo  Feb 21

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

And now then congrats on the win 😀

i look forward to what you do
    GOOD LUCK bud speak soon

  • @downfallroad  Feb 21

    Thanks for listening! \m/

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

I hope you didnt took my comment wrong. I just ment that i might not qualify as a very good rewiever of that genre since I dont really have so wide experience of it.

I really hope you get the cello thing on the next track.

  • @wacha  Feb 21

Thank you for your kind words on "Waking Up Alone" there is a lot more I hope to do with that one post FAWM.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

Oh and congrats on your win mate!!!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

Marcus- thank you for continous support and making me grow in my musicianship. I appreciate it very much and I stand humbled for you kindness.

  • @phoenixash Feb 20

thanks for your comment dear, yep, now you're pretty much singing the line all my friends have been singing to me kkkkkkk I hope I can muster a full production soon. And btw no, you're not the only one the 80's are alive

  • @joefahey  Feb 20

Hey! Thanks for the boost of confidence and thoughts on that weird cannibal song. It was kind of out there but I gave it another listen right now and it made laugh, so thank you!

  • @ericdistad  Feb 19

Thank you for your great comment on Regenerate Degenerate. Yeah, recorded my live take with a mic on the sound hole and also from the pickup and then ran the pickup into an amp sim to distort it so I had a blend - the song felt like it needed some grit. 😀

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 19

I'm happy you liked the XX shades-track 😀

I actually like it myself to. Thanks for the kind comments.

I am still confused finding myself in this softrock-genre. Still just sneaking around to find whats me. But yes I feel like kind of finding and getting to know that voice.

  • @gemhughs Feb 19

Thanks for the listen & the kind comments on "Me Too".

  • @staticcaptain  Feb 19

Thanks for the kind words on "Rewind." A hearty welcome to FAWM which will greatly benefit from your participation!

  • @rustyp  Feb 19

Hey Marcus, Thanks so much for your kind and encouraging comments on my song "cheap Motel." It was pretty fun to write. It made me laugh. 😀

  • @aprilm  Feb 19

Marcus, you are far too kind, and humble as well. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. It's my FAWM friends who have helped me develop as a musician and I am so happy to have made another connection with someone whose music I totally admire. I'm inspired to rock out with more abandon when I get the positive vibes from others. Thanks for that!

  • @aprilm  Feb 19

I'd love to be able to rock out on the guitar! Your music is awesome and I keep coming back when I can to take a listen.

  • @johncrossman  Feb 18

Here's the whole silly musical collaboration song with @cowex's notes if you have a chance. It's great to hear it completed:

  • @johncrossman  Feb 18

Just happened to be here, thinking about my next tune. Grew up in the 80s so I can totally hear it.

My intention is to listen to all your songs but they're soooo well done I want to make sure I'm done squeaking and scratching more of mine out first. 😀

  • @krayzie003  Feb 17

Thanks for your comments. I agree, "Cage" definitely has a kind of grunge feel to it.

  • @s7even Feb 16

Thanks for the kind words on “breaking down”! Really appreciate it. Glad you liked it.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 16

Haha dunno. My son thought I should go for 100 but dunno:) Thanks for the kind compliment .I am really trying to find myself in the softrock sound but Im not sure what I am there jet. But I liked that song to. Thanks for encouraging me Marcus. Very kind of you.

  • @fonte  Feb 15

Thanks for the thoughtful listen and comment on fruit Marcus! Much appreciated. You are right I agree the vocals are a bit burried and drowned in effects also - that's a tendency I have as I don't consider myself a singer so I tend to do that to avoid hearing my singing too much 😀

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 15

Thank you for listening to some of my songs Marcus! I hope to return the favour when I'm back from vacation!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 14

Thank you Marcus you are to kind

  • @mungus  Feb 14

Thanks for you're awesome comments on School Nights - I agree about the vocals in the mix - this is something I don't seem to ever get right

I think it's because vocals are always the last thing I write and then record after most of the track is already done, and made without considering what space I've left for the vocals to sit - and by that time I'm attached to the sound of the music

You're vocals are so powerful and clear, I have much I could learn from you haha, thanks for listening - I think my more recent tracks have even more inaudible vocals though!

  • @robinh  Feb 2018

That's awesome you got a drum kit for your kids, I did the same when my oldest kid (who is now 20!) was 8 or 9 and now she plays on all my recordings. Much to look forward to!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2018

I am colour blind. Its really of little significance these days, but when i was a kid i was forever told what i couldnt do. Thx for your comments. I am learning all the time. I hate videos but until a week ago i had never heard of Soundcloud.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

If I could produce hip hop beats you certainly can. Unfortunately I am a bad mindreader 😀 becourse I dont hear hip-hop in that although I do think the lyrics would suit your rock-voice.

  • @siebass  Feb 2018

Thanks for the comment on my samples from MARS song. I ended up going just for the drums bundle, since I really wanted to get some new cool samples to play around with, but I'm still seriously overwhelmed. A lot of great hits to sift through.

  • @seemanski  Feb 2018

Thanks for your comment, you guessed it. It is an octave on my guitar, opting for a lot of drop d tunes to help it sound bassyish.

  • @aprilm  Feb 2018

Thanks Marcus for checking out Let Me In. I settled on that treatment of the vocals as I was looking for a particular sound. Unfortunately, I don't have the skills or equipment to always put things together in the production end of things to accomplish what's in my mind's eye. I hope the feel I was going for can be intuited 😀

  • @phoenixash Feb 2018

Thanks for the comment and compliments, you're right, I actually have in mind a ful band and full orchestral arrangement for all of my songs... impossible right now, but... most dreams are 😀 doesn't mean they don't come to life.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

Thanks mate. ALso dont hesitate to grab and rework the bad-ass song in any way you want if you have an idea. That was a skirmish thing so very impulsive writing its yours if you want it

  • @williamhaight Feb 2018

Thanks for the feedback on Slow Down.

  • @williamhaight Feb 2018

Thanks for the feedback on Slow Down.

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 2018

thanks for your comment on what you use to record and maybe even
someday I may understand what you are talking about!!
I sure hope so cause everything you make is so amazing...

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

Thank you Marcus for your kind comment on my singing on Cernobylmemory. 😀 Its always very interesting to get creative voice acting possibilities. Feel free to kill me any day 😀

  • @fonte  Feb 2018

Hey hey ! Thanks for your comment on stay glad you liked the sounds!

  • @johncrossman  Feb 2018

That's so weird, I thought I fixed the link! I noticed right away. Now it's definitely right. I'll be back to listen and check out some more tunes as we go.

  • @wacha  Feb 2018

Thank you for the kind words on my songs. I have seem to fallen into writing folk music this year. Rather than fight it, I'me just going to go ahead and embrace it and see where it takes me.

  • @jorh Feb 2018

Thankyou for you kind comments on ‘cause it’s been 9 years dad’! Sorry we made you tearful, I’ll be sure to check out your songs when I finish work haha

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

Cool you got mail (Check your spam if it did not reach you its from gmail ) I Answered the other things there to.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

Thank you for comming up with ideas for Never stay for worse. If you have a concrete idea for the whisteling verse etc feel absolutely free to play with it.maybe that could be the duett 😀
    (Its another improvised 17 min song so i used"safe chord loop C F G C.)

I started with songwriting in sheffield but now studying songwriting (or dunno the english word but soundartist) at the uni in swe (audioengineering (live events etc) and composing for different occations are both parts of it)
I feel much more comfortable behind the main artist than in the spotlight so suits me perfect .
Thanks for being so generous with your compliments.

  • @colgoo  Feb 2018

Check your email. I sent you some lyrics to consider.

  • @jani Feb 2018

Hey Marcus! Thanks for being so supportive 😀 I am really glad you made the comment about one of my songs sounding like it would be good with a whole band (that is my goal eventually) 😀 great work btw I really really like your stuff

  • @aprilm  Feb 2018

Well, your love of sushi sure paid off! Thanks for coming around to check out Next Time. I love collaborating with @kahlo2013. She writes awesome lyrics.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

I am happy you feel that. I had the same experience with Fawm last year. Before I had trouble writing and as studying it i had to . But fawm changed that and I started to belive more in my own way of non-commercial writing since I write mostly norse ballads (svenska visor) and medieval stories.
I only do one takes (and small fx placeholders) becourse I belive that if i burst out all those songs that scream to be written at least 1/10 will be good enough to transform to a bigger production.
Its a pleasure to listen to your productions as you are incredible talented.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

You are very supportive. Thanks for the kind comment on mine and Arthurs collab.

  • @colgoo  Feb 2018

So, I guess I need to save up my money for a trip to Finland!!!

Anyway, for the collaboration, I was thinking that you could e-mail me (my FAWM username at mac dot com) and tell me what you'd like for lyrics....or you could send me an instrumental track and I could send you lyrics with a voice recording of how I'd envision them sung. I have also written lyrics and done vocals for people. So, I am flexible.

Common courtesy here with collaborations is that you get the other person's permission to perform their lyrics/use their backing track, and if you do edits, you also seek permission beforehand. You retain copyright to your part of the collab. So, later on, if you wanted to use the backing track for a different song, you totally could...I own my part of the process with that same understanding. So if you decide to put the song on band camp or another money-making site, you get my permission first and vice versa.

Let me know if that sounds fun.....

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

Thank you Marcus for your awesome comment on The young one and the knight.
Well I do improtheater so improvising is overall part of me. And usually my songs do come out just by flipping some instrument around and having a word, a chordprogression or a situation stuck in my head.

I am honored to get that fron you since your work is absolutely awesome.

  • @colgoo  Feb 2018

Marcus, if you are interested in a collaboration, I would be honored to write some lyrics for you to perform. Wow! I am impressed!

  • @jiminkendal Feb 2018

@mmmmarcus thaks very much for your feedback; wasn’t the easiest chord sequence on mandolin, but glad you liked it. Cheers Jim

  • @mleverette  Feb 2018

@mmmmarcus I wrote a song tonight that you totally rock the vibe on. Let me know if you're interested in a collab. I don't expect finished products this month, btw. These are all works in progress. I have lyrics and a melody.

  • @aprilm  Feb 2018

Thanks for checking out my songs! Yes, I have been productive. I work a very demanding job during the week so tried to squeeze in as much as possible on the weekend. Plus I was saving some ideas for FAWM! I'm doing 2 other collaborations so will focus on the as time permits. Happy FAWMing!

  • @aprilm  Feb 2018

    Hey Marcus!!! (waving enthusiastically)

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

    Det vore grymt såklart!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 2018

    Thanks for your kind comment.
Yes I know:) I am a bit lazy with my fawm songs as I just see the arrangement as placeholders in case I choose a song for later production. I
Thanks for complimenting my voice. Very happy to have you on fawm

  • @unkept Feb 2018

Thanks for the feedback on "Where I Come From". 😁 Good advice on the vocals, I was planning on doing some mixing, but as always I don't do a ton of editing on FAWM. I'm going to take a listen to your stuff now. 😀

  • @jmadison  Feb 2018

Hey mmmmarcus... thanks for listening to my blues! I barely had it posted. You're quick!
