Bio

I have decided I am going to elaborate a little more about myself.

My name is Katy Kettles, however legally it's Katherine; but the only reason my mother named me Katherine was so that she could call me Katy Kettles. I have to say she likes her alliterations. Thanks mom.

I'm drinking a cup of coffee that I made with my coffee press and I wish I could tell you I drink my coffee black to go with that tortured artist thing. However; I have a horrible sweet tooth, so I drink it with those fun tasty creamers.

I was born 5/28/1988 and raised in Lansing, MI....but when I was 19 I had an epiphany after seeing 3 feet of snow on my car and moved to L.A., plus the only thing I thought of in that moment was "people in L.A. don't have 3 feet of snow on they're cars... normally". Since in L.A. I worked for Greenpeace....did some plus-size modeling and then decided to enroll myself in some uber expensive higher education at the Art Institute. My major is Digital photography because after modeling for different people I decided I wanted my own creative freedom to create images that I wanted others to see.

Oh and occasionally I write songs...however I recognize I have said this for years...yet had no proof. Plus Dan V. said to join FAWM....and Dan is pretty freaking awesome most of the time, so I listened to him. Also I decided it's time to actually start pushing myself more ya know.

Well anyways...as you can see I have a lot to say. So for now on I'll let my songs speak.

Where in Cali are you? We have a showcase here in San Dimas once a month (every third Saturday).

And on the Dan V. front...I got to meet him and the Drake (Northern Skies) guys this summer at Rock and Roll camp.

What to expect from me? Very VERY poor songs, I'm sure. I'm already struggling, and I don't really have the gift of good songwriting. But I guess we're all here to refine in some manner, right?
