Hi. I'm Heather Kropf, and I spend all kinds of my free time (and usually most of my money) as a piano-based singer-songwriter and visual artist. I've made three albums so far, and some of my songs have appeared on various compilations. I like pop songs that are too jazz for pop and too pop for jazz. I also like pop songs that crossover into a little bit o' country. Mostly, though, my work moves around in various genres and is known for being mellow, introspective, familiar without being sentimental, and as one fellow songwriter said, "Listening to you is like taking a bath." So, that about sums it up. I've had the pleasure of opening up for national folks like The Weepies, Peter Himmelman, Betty LaVette, Chris Smither, and such. Over the years listeners have said I sound like Nanci Griffith (without the twang), Jill Sobule, Aimee Mann, Natalie Merchant, Norah Jones. I don't know if I sound like any of them really, but it's nice to be in such fantastic company.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and left a thought or two last year. Looking forward to my second FAWM year....
