Artist Bio

Influences:   the weather, whims, other people's music, love gone bittersweet

Hi. I'm Heather Kropf and I'm a piano-based singer-songwriter. I'm currently mostly unemployed and so there will be some obvious distraction to songwriting from my rather intensive job hunt, but even if that weren't the case I don't know what I'll be writing. I may go snarky and dark or I may try to rise above and put a little bit of love out into my world. Or I may fail altogether and not finish anything.

What I appreciate is the extraordinary community and the chance to focus on it for the next month. Thanks in advance, FAWM 2018. And thank you to everyone who stopped by and left a thought over the years.

I do try to stop by every FAWM and listen to your songs--Guess I've been busy this year. But "Wheels" is lovely, and maybe in March I can go through the rest.

Do you play in DC? I would show up for that.

Thanks for the comments on my two (so far!) songs! It's so hard to free time for this, but so important. You do know who inspired "story man", and I'm really glad to hear the song works on multiple levels, that's important to me. I will think about the word choices for "you sing high" (actually I was concerned about "squishing some goo" for similar reasons, but thought I might be over-thinking it... anyway, cheers!

Hey girl, you're the mostest.. love that you're here and even in silence you're awesome. I'm ploughing ahead with rootless voicings and the inversions leave me unsure of what key I'm in, or in several at the same time but it's all melody and rhythm.....
so here's to you and your wonderful take on music and song...
around the world you da bomb
