Bio

Fourth FAWM, new dawn.

I figure my challenge of stepping away from the guitar was more successful than not, and has certainly rekindled a desire to actually pick up the damned thing. To that end I'd like to try writing 2-3 guitar songs if possible. Would also like to try not using any harmonies/back up vocals, and perhaps another instrumental.

Congrats on finishing so strongly smile
  • Marie, is there any chance you and Sapient will be together for the London FOP? Just looking forward to a potential SA5PM jam.
  • Sean_T_Wright 2 weeks ago
Marie, hi ya, have you still got the Hitler song file/wav/mp3 whatever for it, which you recorded last 5090? I've lost mine - aaahhh. And would like to listen to it again. Cheers.

Hey thanks. I'm waiting on at least 2 people posting collaborations with me and then for the inevitable song with the Toronto FAWMily on Saturday, so something'll take me over the finish line.

I really need to catch up on listening, but I shall!

Thanks! The Berklee course was very very very good, and I was also getting my heart broken by a really interesting guy, so stuff just poured. I'm kinda hoping life remains a *touch* less sublime for a while...

    Hi Marie,

Thanks for the comment. Yeah the LE interface I was referring to is the Eleven Rack, which is am audio interface with dedicated DSP for guitar processing . I guess it's a sign of a possible future of Digidesign moving into the "Host platform plus outboard DSP" type system.

You can read my post on that here:

I use my laptop, Ableton Live and Acid Pro, and loads of softsynths, samples, and effects. I occasionally use a microkorg, but it's most often used for live performance rather than in the studio.

Why am I not listening to your tunes this Feb?!?! Back to rectify that in a bit...
  •  cts 3 weeks ago
Sorry, I was in the middle of editing it. Try it now.
  •  Elaine DiMasi 4 weeks ago
Thanks for swinging by! I thought of you every time I worked on "Just Drive" all year, btw. Your enjoyment of the demo at the time made a big impression on me. Did you pick up your free copy from my shameless-self-promotion thread? Hope you do! - Ha! I was just about to type "keep the tracks coming" when I saw you posted your next one 2 minutes ago. Rock.

I have listened through Funplex 3 times or so now, and I like it. To me it's similar to Cosmic Thing and Good Stuff in quality/quantity ratio, and I especially like Deviant Ingredient, Dancing now, Keep this party going. The only thing which annoys me a bit is that it sounds very similar to New Order / Get Ready. It could be natural as it's the same producer I guess, but it is so very similar that it gets to me, in the "can he only do one sound"-way. smile
  •  Karan 1 month ago
I really hope you can make it to London!

Thanks for commenting, Marie. I really hope we get to hear your awesome tunes this month. You have such a great talent.
  •  cts 1 month ago
Thank you for taking a listen at the tune, Marie. It means a lot. Now, I know it's all cliched to state it, but...I've been kicking around some words and I'd love to share them with you at some point in hopes that you might find a melody and we sing on it. And trust me, if you think it's not a good fit or you've got some mad projects in the works - it's cool. Never hurts to ask, right?
  •  Roy Estel Hughes 1 month ago
