Dan Boyle 20

Artist Bio

Influences:   Bands

Major Danby are Dan Boyle & Karl Stanford.

2018, this must be 6th, 7th, 8th, bash at this? Hold tight for more random nonsense.
Karl is back on his feet after his treatment, but ironically I have probably been in a worse state than him over the past few months; my immune system is a twat!

Anyway, here we go again. Good luck everyone x

Great FAWM guys! Hopefully I'll see you next year.

  • @quork  6 weeks

Thanks for your comments on "What the Band Saw". I'm curious to know what Decembrists song the lyrics reminded you of. I was recently introduced to them through a song - Down By the Water - one of the members of my band brought to us. Great stuff.

  • @cleanshoes 6 weeks

Thanks so much for your comment on Quiet Heart and also the mention on the recommended song thread (whoa!). That's definitely one of my favorites from this year.

  • @leah0k  6 weeks

Thanks so much for the many positive sentiments from you both- I love the butt-kick FAWM provides and this time I’m still writing, so maybe by the end of March I’ll have my 14 songs and the tape a side 2 haha 😀

Karl - you're welcome! That's so tough you've been in the hospital. Glad you have a creative resource to turn to. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I agree, his vocals have been beautiful

    Hi Dan
Thank you for dropping by and listening to among the Roses. I'm a huge fan of Kelly Joe Phelps so I'm flattered there was a hint of that in my song! Just listened to one of your tunes. You are wonderful!

  • @berni1954  8 weeks

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for giving "Strolling along the Prom" a listen. As a uke player, I am convinced a lot of GH's songs started life on that instrument. And a few of the other Beatles' stuff too. "Honey Pie" is just made for the ukulele, for example.

Hope you get a chance to check out my other songs too. Quite a varied Baker's dozen plus one if I say so myself. Not what I planned when I started FAWM (my first year) - but I take them as they come 😀

  • @sueawesome Feb 24

there's changes on the way, not sure what, but the feeling just hit me that there's more to write. You work on your end and I'll work on mine, it'll come together when it's supposed to

thank you (I'll keep you posted)

  • @sueawesome Feb 24

and now my unending doubts are creeping in and I'm starting to hate some of the verses, plus I'm thinking it's just not your style

  • @sueawesome Feb 24

hey Dan, I just posted an untitled lyric and really think your voice could do what it's needing. if you have a minute to read it, let me know if it's something you'd want to do (after fawm since I'm sure you're busy)
    no pressure!

  • @ustaknow Feb 23

Hey, thank you for the review.

All you-all’s work, obviously, all well done.

Glad your partners back to work too!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 23

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Here’s your badge. Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @crisp1  Feb 23

Thanks for the comments on Everything. Colleen knew exactly what music it needed and how to sing it -- I couldn't have been happier.

  • @repsurepa Feb 20

Thank you for you comments! Haha, I was quite satisfied with the 'bup bup' back-up vocals as well! I haven't done them like that ever before. I'm glad you like my stuff! : ))

  • @owl  Feb 15

Personally I thought the guitar tone sounded nice, jangly, it does blends better in the chorus since everything else is a bit louder there. Sad to relate the lyrics to Lennon, I thought it was more of a general "modern life" lament...

  • @driftwood1  Feb 15

Lol, oldest trick in the book.

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 12

And how i have missed my fellow Karl this year. Look forward to your output matey

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 12

Cheers for the comments on Let me be. And yeah you right i was feeling very manchester on this one

  • @monty  Feb 9

Thank you Karl for the feedback on Osculation. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

  • @lieke Feb 9

That is so cool that I inspired you! I feel honored...

And my song made me feel really sad too, I never cried as much writing and recording before! That's why it took so long for me to finish. So I guess some grief still needed to get out, and it's very healing to do that in writing music.

  • @johnhudome  Feb 8

Hi Karl, Thank you for your comments on Springtime. I really like it too.
The tuning is C, G, C, F, C, e. "B" string up a half step to C. Everything else down except high e stays the same.

  • @annayarbrough Feb 8

Thanks for your comments! Congrats on the 5 songs thus far?! You've been busy!

  • @degausser  Feb 7

Aha, there’s two of you! Now I understand.

  • @degausser  Feb 7

Hello mate, thanks for your comments! If you ever remember who I remind you of (apart from myself) then let me know. Also, in response to your question - no 12-string involved just a made up chord high up the fretboard. Totally sound like one doesn’t it? In other news, woah, how many songs do you have!? I’ll be enjoying them this morning then!

  • @chrisshepard Feb 6

Got a little busy...a little drunk...and now, I'm busy with starting to learn a theatre production. I have almost 3 done...just need to record!

  • @wacha  Feb 6

Thank you very much for your kind words on "Start Again". It's nice to have a song that others can relate to.

  • @leah0k  Feb 5

Wow thank you so much - I had to google “chuffed” (haha!) but you were right - it did kind of keep writing itself from that first line. Gotta love it when that happens!

  • @johnhudome  Feb 4

    Love the Seagulls chant. Awesome.

  • @johnhudome  Feb 4
