Where oh where has the year gone? Hard to believe that February is rolling back around again....last year at this time my husband and I got THE call we'd been waiting for for literally years, and we adopted our beautiful 3 1/2 (now 4) year old daughter. After 6 years of dedicated FAWMing, I had to drop and focus on the family. And it has been a roller coaster ride---a special needs adoption that has obliterated every semblance of normality that existed in our home. (We're still not past the drama drama in what has turned into a never-ending legal soap opera nightmare.) And did I mention we moved 1,000 miles back east to New Hampshire from Ohio? It's been a year. I have not written a single song since she came home (Feb 2, 2011)....hardly played a note....although I have learned an impressive collection of kids music which I have mostly taught her......but now that February is rolling back around again, I have to say it is time for me to begin to reclaim a small corner of my former life.

So my hopes for this February are modest.....but I am truly looking forward to making some music and listening to some of yours.

"Peanut Butter Sandwich Twinkle" is basically Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, but they play each note with a "peanut butter sandwich" rhythm: Four 16th notes and two 8th notes, or "dadadada-da-da." It's actually a really fun song to teach!

Doing well enough, I suppose. My FAWM is delayed, as I'm mixing a record for the lovely @debs and @errol, and cannot in good conscience start posting tracks until it's done. It will likely be done in the next day or so, and then FAWM ahoy!

The dulcimer is tuned to DAD or as close as my KORG tuner can get it there!
Looking forward to listening to some of your "bad ass" uke and vocals this year!
Oh one more thing...congrats on the brat! I meant that in a cheerful upbeat way!
We have thought about adoption because mine had grown up and moved out of the house. Then things happen, a kid gets divorced, another looses a job. The discovery of being a parent, as a life long job and commitment becomes all too real!
