influences: Many influences including - My sparkly children, fingerless gloves - good for people who write late at night & it's cold. The smell of bookshops, chocolate cereals and cold milk, gollum/pob impressions, my silly heart, looking for the word 'fool' on my head, interdimensional spaceships, tinfoil parsnips and a broken coat hanger. Fridge seduction and the surprsingly stomach friendly combination of potentially poisonous ingredients. Watching things sink, pink things, making and eating stuffwiches. Close friends, chats with those close friends. Coffee, cats, chocolate chimono and the art of opening doors with ones head. Running in the dark, doorstep absailing, wall bouncing and still, the cereal box jumping gets me everytime. Cheese fawming & wafer biscuits - never thought I'd see the day but these bad boys have a line of chocolate running through the middle 'special moments'. And if you got this far - The Blues, The Jazz, The Pop, The Job Lot :)

Bio

- bananas, usually a tad expensive, but better on the tummy.

I create little songs from scraps of love and life. I tend to use my heart and not my head, so if you do get confused, it's likely nomal. My piano is out of tune and my voice is composed of strong black coffee and the occasional packet of sticky sweets.

Last year was a particularly odd one for me and I suspect it will shine through this February. "Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be...Myself"

Hey! So, my parents left town for the weekend and obviously couldn't bring my guitar with... so I MIGHT be able to squeeze in a few recordings this weekend and also hopefully post the rest of my lyrics (: I must say though, most of my songs towards the end kind of got depressing! No happy potato songs! haha.
By the way, I absolutely LOVE your music - voice, lyrics, piano playing, EVERYTHING! haha.

Alloo Linzi! What was that strange soundboard of Bizzaro Errol you ask? Well, Jocelyn and I collabed on a song. Then Billy Sea wrote a parody of it. I wrote a parody of his parody because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Then Debs, upset that I wrote the parody first before she could get her parody out wrote another parody.

I think the way you record your songs is exactly perfect--your writing and performance are so charming that anything more would just be gilding the lily! (Believe me, that is high praise!)

I've been performing mostly solo (with the occasional band of hired guns) for about 14 years, either on piano (when I'm lucky enough to book a place that has a decent one) or a keyboard. But even though I've been around the piano all my life, it never really felt like "my" instrument. Even though I am still in a real fledgling stage as a guitarist, it already feels more like me, so I'm really excited to keep working on it! I'll always keep the piano in the mix, though.

I'm gonna go listen to more of your songs now while I'm working!
