Influences:   All of you, and all what's ever made

2018 is my 9th year FAWM
Never made it to 14 though... I really love songwriting, I do it since the age of 12, it's like therapy to me. And I really love FAWMing, the interaction with other FAWMers inspire me, and I'm blown away with the talent and variety of all what's created here. You make me laugh and cry, and I'm so grateful for that.
Last year I only wrote 1 song unfortunately. This year I'm definitely going to be more productive.
Usually I sing in harmonies a lot. I like to use all kinds of instruments mostly non-digital, or turn ordinary sounds into music. Thanks so much for listening!

I wish everyone a great FAWM, let the music flow!

Hi @lieke thanks so much for your comments on so many of my songs! ๐Ÿ˜€

We did have a nice time, and the truth is that the room did not look like the 70s But that was a really fun line to write. It just sortof flowed. It's neat when that happens.

So was the "click my heels" line. IT's amazing how your brain begins to flow with lyrics if you practice. ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, thanks so much I really appreciate your encouragement. ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for you sweet words on my ABCs song. It means a lot ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @shortdan  Feb 15

Thank you for you kind comments this morning - they're really appreciated ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @majordanby  Feb 13

Thanks for your kind words, Iโ€™m glad you liked it!
Iโ€™m not offended at all; you have given me some good ideas for an alternate ending. I might come back to it after FAWM

There's no shame in using a capo on guitar ๐Ÿ˜ I know some people think it's a shortcut, but I actually really like using them sometimes just for the slightly chimey sound they give.

  • @majordanby  Feb 12

Iโ€™ve posted up that track that your song โ€˜Youโ€™re Long Goneโ€™ inspired me to write.
Check it out if you like. Itโ€™s called โ€˜In Your Daughterโ€™s Eyesโ€™.

  • @pbtaylorjr  Feb 11

Thanks for all your comments. About your question on โ€œPillow,โ€ I do use power chords in my music often but not in that song. The chords Iโ€™m using in that song are kinda like the bottom half of bar chords if they were played on a 7 string guitar. I am not fluent enough in guitar to know what to actually call them. Haha.

  • @bithprod Feb 11

Thanks! Good call, and I totally agree with you.

  • @ctrl33 Feb 9

Thanks for the comment! Sounds like you understood the idea of the song ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @bithprod Feb 9

Good for you! lol. I kind of figured. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi @lieke
Thanks so much for your kind words! ๐Ÿ˜€

The "spn" reference is to "ESPN" that's a sports TV network found here on cable TV. I imagine this tough guy coming home, ignoring the family for a while as he sits and watches American football or something.
But I didn't think I could fit four syllables in that short line.

Definitely have to rethink that one. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @kevinreid  Feb 6

Thanks for such a lovely comment on my song! It meant a lot to me.

  • @dutch1967 Feb 5

Dankjewel Lieke, thanks so much for those very kind and generous words on my song Madrid. I may play you my song on Utrecht some day.

  • @danvaillancourt  Feb 4

Thanks LJ! I am always glad that you are here! Most of the background sounds are things things that I do and noises that I make on backing vocals while waiting/dancing between singing parts. If I do remixes, I should turn them up for you and will try and keep it in mind when mixing new songs too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @haim  Feb 4

Thank you Lieke, YOU are the one who put smile on my face with your adorable comment (On my song "Joy")... I think I fell in love with your words, it's so nice to hear pleasant words like that. By the way, your name is very unique and interesting I wonder what it means?

  • @rustyp  Feb 4

Thanks so much for your kind comments. ๐Ÿ˜€ I wasn't really going for a particular sound, but I picked up the bass and played the descending bass line started just sortof singing the lyrics and it went from there. ๐Ÿ˜€ Yes, it does have the sensibility of a love song now that you mention it. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @majordanby  Feb 2

    Haha! Donโ€™t cry ๐Ÿ˜‰
Iโ€™m glad you like my depressing little tune. I will try to write a happy song soon. They are so hard to do though!
