Artist Bio

I'm a long-time amateur songwriter looking for a kick in the butt to do some more writing. Big on music theory, bluesy chords, and hammer-claw guitar picking.

Open to collaboration and criticism.

Well, now I know 'zillion' was on the table, 'trillion' seems downright understated. (Two week reply time, Mike? Good effort.)

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 24

Hey thanks so much for your feedback on my skirmish song No Wonder..
I will certainly change that part when I do a final write...
thanks for bringing it to my attention...

  • @musicbyzac Feb 23

Thanks for the feedback on "Bandaid" I appreciate that you got more out of it than a simple metaphor, even if I hadn't intended it to go that far. Just shows how songs/lyrics can be interpreted differently and evoke emotions from people and ultimately that's what I'm trying to do with anything I write.

  • @spunky4455 Feb 22

Thanks for the compliments on our collab song. I worked hard on that instrumental arrangement, so I appreciate it.

  • @s7even Feb 21

Not for this track. Iโ€™m sorry.

  • @dani312 Feb 21

Thanks for your comments and useful suggestions on Once Again. I did feel that the accordion was a bit low in the mix, but we had it combined in a track with a really loud fiddle so It was tricky to fix that... and since its FAWM we are of course rushing haha! And I totally agree about taking โ€˜aโ€™ out of that line to make it more singable! Thanks ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @rustyp  Feb 21

Hey! Thanks so much for your comments on "Splinters" That's exactly the kind of thing I am looking for.

I too am unsure about the "chip off the old carpenter" phrase, but I wasn't sure if "chip off the old block" would be too much of a cliche and if it would be easy enough to follow.
I will certainly keep working on that and the other things you mentioned. Nitpickie is not necessarily a bad thing. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @hmstreetteam Feb 21

I am eager to hear your musical take on โ€œPennsylvania on the Byways.โ€ From your earlier comment I am confident that you are thinking of the song much the way I was when I wrote the lyrics, so thereโ€™s no need for me to audition it before you post it. Also it would be my first international FAWM collaboration, so how cool would that be?

  • @repsurepa Feb 20

Thank you so much on your comments! I'm glad the lyrics don't seem unnatural to you! That was a fun piece to write : )

  • @s7even Feb 20

    Iโ€™m sorry, I meant โ€œbackroadsโ€

  • @s7even Feb 20

Hello! Just stopping in to let you know that โ€œletโ€™s make a memoryโ€ has a demo up. Hope you like it!

  • @mikedebenham  Feb 17

I think you're right about 'Can You See Me?' by the way. I could feel it tugging towards something perhaps a little more psych-folk as I was recording, but didn't have time to explore.

  • @phylo  Feb 14

Thanks for your very nice words on A Papa's Advice. I actually already have the guitar track done!

  • @zoelogical Feb 14

Thank you for your comment on Fool's Gamble! I hadn't considered it as a waltz, but I actually super love that concept, I think I'll explore that direction. ๐Ÿ˜ thank you!!

  • @tan482  Feb 14

Thanks for your kind words on my waltz. Yes I know the Appalachian heartland music well, I love it! And I will probably extend the piece one day, I did a rush job as I wanted to get my first song up ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @rustyp  Feb 13

Yes! I agree, there should be a more direct way to trade messages. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @rustyp  Feb 13

Just FYI, that WAS NOT a slam when I mentioned practice. ๐Ÿ˜€
I'm relying heavily on multitracks because it allows me to focus on playing one instrument at a time. ๐Ÿ˜€ Plus, I can't see, and writing a song every other day doesn't give me an opportunity to memorize lyrics.
    ๐Ÿ˜€
Playing and singing any of these songs at the same time will happen after FAWM when I start memorizing. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @cindyrella  Feb 10

Thanks again and can I borrow that last part?

  • @cindyrella  Feb 10

Thanks on your comments on my Irish song. I have changed it-based on your suggestions. How is it now?

  • @benjo  Feb 10

Thank you so much for you kind feedback on my lyric means a lot to me take care

  • @rustyp  Feb 9

Hey thanks! Glad the dreamyness worked. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with the end, but U2 has a ew songs where they just sortof finish with a musical vamp, then, as I was singing, I just kep snging. Another good option would have been a guitar solo, but it was getting late. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @fonte  Feb 7

Thanks for the nice comment on Stay. Yes, a drawn out bar jam! That's really what I want, but 'songs' get in the way ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @arthurrossi Feb 3

Hey! I would like to thank you very, very much for creating such a wonderful song for "Oh Chiquita"! I like the melody so much and your performance is absolutely enjoyable... I would love to save the demo in my private archives to be able to listen to it also when this FAWM is over. May I ask you for the favor to send me an MP3 of it on my email address, which is
    arthurrossi18@yahoo.com
? I would be very happy about it... Thanks so much once again!
