Bio

I am a singer-songwriter from Minneapolis and play live around the Twin Cities once in a while, either solo, or with my band The Bottom 40.

I love writing songs making records and FAWM really motivates me to write and be creative. I want to keep writing songs and making records and this really helps me. It's a great exercise in time management skills too.

I have 2 solo records out and 2 with my old band Carp 18.

Hey, you are a winner!! I need some sleep, but I'll be back tomorrow to listen to Substantial Spiders...That may be the song title of the year. Who could pass that by without a listen?

Joe thanks for the nice comment on "Why are you still here" That means a lot coming from someone of your talent. I do appreciate it.

I just have to say this has been a wonderful FAWM for me, my second and I'm still jazzed about last year. It blows my mind that I'll have 15 songs that didn't exist in January and they magically appeared. This year I felt like I paced myself in a comfortable zone and though I didn't feel like some of the songs were as solid as last year they have a way of growing on you. This year I did a collaboration with Todd Norem and I have never felt so comfortable with somebody putting together a song. It's probably my favorite of the batch, it runs through my head every day and I just love it. Next year I'll have to try more of that. I appreciate every comment made and I had a lot of fun exploring all the songs and ideas that people pull out of thin air.

Joe, thanks for the comment on Shearin' O'Sheep. Glad you liked it. It's kinda rough, but I think a little more work will help it out after Fawm. And yeah, the Irish locale was pretty much the inspiration.

Wow--you named two of my most important inspirations. Thanks. And geez, Alice Cooper and Badfinger? Where have you been all my life?

Thanks for your kind words on my zong. I like your songs, especially Lonesome People On Drugs - you sound a little like Neil Young.
