Artist Bio

Influences:   Pixies, Elvis Costello, Spoon, Neutral Milk Hotel, Roky Erickson, Le Butcherettes, Pretty & Nice, The Strokes, The B-52s... I listened to a lot of punk when I was younger, so there's definitely a lot of that aesthetic floating around in my brain somewhere.

I started playing guitar in 8th grade and am completely self-taught. I was in a couple of short-lived gigging local rock bands 8-10 years ago, playing bass and/or guitar and singing. I currently have a non-serious 90s/00s alternative cover band with some co-workers.

This year's FAWM will be a little different for me. I have an 8 month old baby who sleeps in the room next to where I'd usually record. So, when I can find time, I'm at the kitchen table with a bare minimum setup. I may not hit 14 this year, but I'll do what I can!

    Hey, congrats on WINNING

  • @mardeycranbleson  Feb 25

Yeah the backing track from my sunday song is directly from a backing track program so I cant take much credit there! I actually I layered on a beat of my own so theres that at least! Yep I know what dont hug me im scared is I love the music from there.

Thank you for your comment on my last song. When you mean drums on garage band, do you mean loops or actually creating drum patterns with an external keyboard? I will check our your tunes tonight, amazing you have a kid now and you are still doing this! Thank you!

You do realise you've just arranged our first collab - the adventures of Water Dog and Fire Pig 😁 😁

  • @tootoobee  Feb 17

Thank you for commenting on my wooden rabbit song! My sons are 11 and 8, the elder one getting in an age where it's getting difficult to talk...

  • @fonte  Feb 11

Haha! Yes I have noticed that too! Girls eh? Always with the eyeballs πŸ˜‰

  • @heuristicsinc  Feb 10

FYI, Vocoder on my track is Izotope VocalSynth. Totally worth checking out. Thanks for the review πŸ˜€

  • @spingo  Feb 10

Oh hey! Thanks for the Lego tip.

  • @spingo  Feb 10

Thank you for noticing Polly! I was skimming Wikipedia as fast as possible.

  • @dreamscuba  Feb 6

Thank you for your comments on 'Celestial Promises'. You put me to shame with your Mandarin...I am from Birmingham in the UK and you may say I barely speak English (hehe...).

  • @guatecoop  Feb 5

I'm surprised that I haven't run across you before! I'm into a lot of what you are and I can relate to your parenthood FAWM. I now have a 5 year old and another in the way. It certainly helped me to learn to record electric and loud guitars quietly, but making them sound loud. Best wishes to you!

  • @andygetch  Feb 4

Hi Jeremy, you're welcome! Sharing what I have learned and remembering cool influences like Roky Erickson/13th Floor Elevators helps me too πŸ˜€

  • @mardeycranbleson  Feb 4

Thank you for the comment about ceiling fan I really appreciate that you remembered it a year later. Hope you’re able to hit your goal even with the baby and all. When my kids were young I didn’t have it in me I just stopped recording and gave up until they were older ...

  • @cowex  Feb 4

    It's a good thing. πŸ˜€

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 3

Yeah. Black Keys. White Stripes. Purple Haze. πŸ˜€
Love me the Keys. Those boys rock. And the Strokes.

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 3

I remember the FAWM years with a baby in the house! I wrote a lot more quiet music then. πŸ˜€

But headphones and guitar pedals can make it all happen without too much noise too.

btw- I love me some Strokes. Really great energy and melodies and just plain bad-ass rocking.
