  • @weakness 6 weeks

Dude holy fuck I love everything I've been hearing just going through your links. How the heck did you crank out so many songs so fast! πŸ˜‚πŸ™Œ Also, the way you get your drums and your DI stuff to work on the tracks that have full band productions work really well!

  • @zecoop  6 weeks

    Yes! Let's do it... πŸ˜€

"skirmish" by definition is an episode of irregular or unpremeditated fighting, especially between small or outlying parts of armies or fleets! Been doing this for 11 years and I still don't know how no one has died doing these skirmish things!

Thanks for checking out my Aunti Syn song! I'm really glad you liked it. And thanks for being such a big part of the FAWM experience! You've been a FAWM superhero this year πŸ˜€

And about the bass: I did DI it and I pushed the input into the red to get an overdriven tone. I'm using a bass amp sim in Amplitube 4 as well!

  • @wacha  7 weeks

Thank you for your kind words on "Into the Ether" and for all your work recognizing us for commenting.

Georgie, I have another songwriter asking to collaborate on I Want to Smell Roses. Sounds like they've already worked up a melody. Is that all right with you? I'm asking since you had said something a week ago about putting it to music. You have first priority!

  • @metalfoot  8 weeks

Thanks, Georgie, for going above and beyond the call of duty with your Centurion Club graphics and write-ups. πŸ˜€

(And thanks, as always, for being such a great friend. I appreciate you!)

Partial capo for that guitar tone/sound in No Wonder! (Of course, it's like my favourite trick in the bag!)

  • @spunky4455 Feb 23

  • @thetau  Feb 23

    Re; your comment "Swamp girls"
Actually, I am not too good with the lyrical end of things. I'm more of a music man... Cindy is going to put lyrics to it. Still will need a vocalist. I usually have several instrumentals that need some vocal and lyrical help.
My normal approach is to create some music and then hope to find the lyrics from elsewhere... either that or start out with a co-op to begin with. Something like jumping out of an airplane and then looking for a parachute on the way down. LOL

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 23

You are crazy talented and wonderful! Love your take on the lyrics and morph of the song!!! Really cool drums! Since I am the drummer in my band I want to play this version!!! That would be totally fun!!! My band is very basic and we play out for cokes and beers and a few local fundraisers for girls rock camps - so we don't make money. If you are cool with that let me know and send me, if you have, a lyric chord chart. Awesome!!! Thanks again! I may change the title though as the title is not only not anywhere in the song the driving cool confidence of this amazing morphed version is not so congruent with the title! Ah! The good things that happen when creative genius goes wild!!! 😘

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 23

  • @soulbird Feb 18

thanks for comments on ask the moon to dance...at least hopefully I won't forget the chords like I have with most of the others!

  • @benjo  Feb 18

    hey Georgie

    WOW YOU SMASHED IT
    such clarity in the vocal
    such a strong vocal too
love the drum beat in this
the way you slow the lyric down
and then rip it up in the choruses
and the nice gentle sarcastic last line
    you really understood these words
THANK YOU SO MUCH, GEORGIE , TAKE A BOW

  • @msykes71 Feb 18

I'm very impressed with your massive output. It's brilliant. I don't know how you do it. I've been listening to your song "Excellent" and I like it a lot.

  • @msykes71 Feb 18

Thanks for your encouragement. I spent an hour or two yesterday jamming through some chords on the guitar, but nothing conclusive coming out of it. As you'll notice I've not uploaded anything as I've not been able to write anything sadly. I'm very disappointed but what can you do?

  • @crisp1  Feb 18

That would be great, Georgie, on I Want to Smell Roses!

  • @tcelliott  Feb 17

re: Fire Pig - Hot going in means hot going out. Just sayin' *evil grin*

  • @ustaknow Feb 17

Oh, fine, thank you πŸ˜Šβ€” spontaneous stuff makes even more fun!

And you? All look hunky dory! 😊

  • @ayehahmur  Feb 17

Ah cheers for the thumbs up @jibbidy34! Yeah, the double meaning on "slight" was intentional. There are so few words to play with in a song I love it when you can make one bring several dimensions of meaning at once. πŸ˜€

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Ha ha! Yeah you would make a track like that pop! But you know there is not limit other than sanity! And even that is fun to cross now and againπŸ˜€

  • @soulbird Feb 15

well you have the words and a tune so you have another original, .. and now i have an idea for a chorus I can probably go back and come up with a first verse

  • @billwhite51 Feb 15

in answer to your qustion, no, i never used the phrase tobacco stains inn a sonng before, and only wrote about cigarettes once. but back in the senventies, there was usually a burning cigarette sticking up from beneatht he strings near the nut of my guitar

  • @billwhite51 Feb 15

i quit smoking 35 years ago. when i lived in north carolina, everytime we passed the cemetary, my dad would point at it and say, there is marlboro country. so there is a secondary meaning there that only a very few will get.

  • @soulbird Feb 14

The cassette thing is my Annual 4-track challenge. It is a lot of fun! We have 17 tapes this year going all over the world. UK-US, US-UK, Tokyo-UK-US, all UK, all US, etc...

  • @billwhite51 Feb 14

Hi Georgoe. Than you for your comments on Nothing Lft to Believe. When I do the album version, I am going to take what you said into account and add a buch of drunken voices to the chorus. I never thought of it that way before. lso, the first draft of lurics is about three times as long as what I am singing here, so I may restore some of the unused lines.

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 14

Hey lovely lady. Thanks so much for your comments . I definitely channel the 90s with shed loads of my stuff so how brilliant we have connected . I am experiencing my first fawm race against time as next week is work mad then off to Thailand !! But would love to do a collab. It na be a crime not to . Shall be in touch and wow well done on your output so far .

  • @metalfoot  Feb 14

Looks like I have some listening to catch up on, Georgie! Thanks for being a good sport about the disco track and the nice words about Sweet Pea. In spite of NuJ4x's assertion, I am NOT changing my name to Disco Daddy.

thanks for your comments on valentine blues or cry me a valentine or valentine's stay, whatever it gets called if it's still around in 2 weeks... - was talking to a husband of yours yesterday and he said for you it's like it suddenly unlocks a writing thing... also, I'm focusing on writing songs to my own brief rather than responding to challenges to prove I can!

  • @aprilm  Feb 12

I was excited the morning to see the greeting on my soundboard! Thank you! Made me smile.

  • @cindyrella  Feb 11

Thanks for all those wonderful comments on my songs!

Thanks..., I was glad I still had that orig track πŸ˜€ ... 5 mins, live, in "The Fishbowl", as I like to call it. (I love it! -- raw, gritty and unfinished... there's a feel to it, -- hard to Engineer in...).

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 9

Thank you for commenting on my swedish song. (And all the other comments and support).

  • @rambam Feb 9

    Hey! Found you!

  • @billwhite51 Feb 8

Georgie, while being compared to dylan and the doors is certainly flattering, what i was going for in measure of a man was more like allen ginsberg meets john coltrane. its funny, though, how the inspirations of ones youth often trump the emulations of age. i used to write lyrics for schubert type art songs, and the pianist who composed the music always complained, when we did a live show, that i should stop trying to be jim morrison and just sing the song properly. i sure he was right, but i have never been able to shake of the jim morrison spirit that so enlivened my youth. thaks again for listening and for your always pereptive and helpful comments.

  • @headfirstonly  Feb 7

Haha, I always suspected that Gear Acquisition Syndrome was transmissible, now I know it is! Enjoy SD3 - the collection of different drum sounds is *amazing* (but they're the best part of a quarter terabyte to download, eek!)

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 7

Thank you. That award was awesome . And my ears feel great I get somewhat high of all the great music in fawm β™₯

  • @billwhite51 Feb 7

thanks for your comments on misery in her head. if it sounds honest, its because it is real. a sorta girlfriend from high school who i ran into on the street or in a coffee shop periodically through the years. the last time i saw her, the first words out of her mouth were life is so long. and thus the inspiration. most of the details beyond that are fabricated, but the tragic waste of her life is so real to me.

  • @songwritingzen  Feb 7

Hi Georgie, thanks for your comments on "Baby" πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 6

Saw a comment centurian post from you on someone's page... are you the keeper of that this year? πŸ˜€

WOW... I'm way behind, I see. I need to do some listening of your stuff soon.
