I just started committing to writing last year (2016) and have been really psyched to learn from the awesome writing community! Before 2016, I would write about 1 song every 2-3 years until I was shown the beauty of GYAWS (a weekly songwriting group). I'm married with 2 kids and my husband and I run a wilderness ministry, Project Forty. We help teens connect and grow through wilderness trips like rock climbing and ice climbing. 😀
I'm learning as I go, but would appreciate kind criticism so that I can grow through this experience. Can't wait!
Glad you could identify with the inner conflict of "One Last Sad Song."
I'll have to come back and give yer stuff a listen in March.
Thanks for the comment on "It's Complicated." I'm so far behind in keeping up with comments, but better late than never! I love Toad The Wet Sprocket!! So that's a compliment to me fore sure. I actually just saw them perform this past summer in Naperville, IL when we went to visit friends for their "Last Fling" concert series. They still rock! It was an awesome show.
Ok, so we're' the other seven? 😝 no pressure.
Thank you a million. My mom keeps asking about my experience on here every week, and asking, "What are you going to do when it's over?" LOL. I'm sure this'll add to my fun.
Thank you for coming by to listen and write sweet words. I fixed the issue with Sweet Wind, if you wanted to go back to it ever. 😀 I look forward to hearing your next three songs I haven't heard yet! Now I just need to figure out how to stop time to be able to do it, haha.
Tell me more about GYAWS. How can I say hello to it?
I don't want to be a bad influence on children. But perhaps it's too late for that!
Thanks for the nice comment 0n Blipp & Beano.
Must of my tunes are acoustic guitar based but over the last few years of doing FAWM I've been doing a few ambient instrumentals here and there.
Some watch the super bowl with rapt attention, some listen to fellow fawmers' songs with delight using headphones, which is what I did when listening to Gathered Waters.
Okay, you are amazing. So glad to have heard your music!
Thank you so much for listening to "Extraction" and leaving me a comment! Yeah, it kind of nice to get at least something positive out of the experience. lol
Thanks for your kind comments on my songs... and thanks for listening! As you can tell, I'm out of the blocks with a lot of tracks, but life's going to get crazy-busy in the next week or so. All the best on your continuing FAWMing!
Very kind of you to say nice things about my song. I felt like it was a pretty weak song so I stated playing around with the arrangement, and I think I just about killed it. Please don't think that's typical.
... I just listened to "Slow Down" and a couple others on Soundcloud and, holy cow, your voice is magnificent.
Ann Arbor! I grew up in Waterford though, and spent a lot of time in Holly.
Hiya. Are you in Holly Michigan? Great to meet you.
Enjoyed your showcase song - particularly some of your glissando vocals and the synth pulsating pad. The lyrics are great as well. You might want to join in the First Fruits challenge this year. Watchlisted.
Hello & Welcome!
Yay.... Welcome to FAWM and so glad to have yet another awesome Michigan FAWMer here!! I lived in Owosso through high school. Is the Ren Faire in Holly? I went to that and think it was... 😀
Can't wait to hear your music! I love Regina and Ingrid too........
Happy FAWNing Jenn
