Thank you for your kind words on "#Metoo" I was really excited to get to work on that one. I have a few projects in the works that I have to clear off my plate but once I do, I plan on working on a proper recording of that one.

  • @wacha  Mar 14

You are very welcome, I'm really enjoying listening. Glad I came across your music.

  • @wacha  Mar 13

Thank you for your kind words on "Quilted Heart" as well as your well wishes.

I am not sure about 50/90, I am considering doing it this year. It may depend on how things are looking for me personally. I am thinking I might sign up to do some collaborations. I may join with no intentions of hitting 50 songs. I'm flattered you want to collaborate with me, I'd love to do something with you.

  • @zecoop  Mar 11

Thanks for checking out my first surf tune... I just love playing those. I actually wrote two more this year. It was a banner surf year! I'm ready for warm weather, obviously. šŸ˜€

  • @rainchaser  Mar 8

Thank you for your comment on our song, and I really appreciated the listen. I'm glad you liked the mixing of the song. I thought I spent too long on the mixing and obviously I don't own any analog gear to get it to sound more retro than it is. Mixing in mono is a pain ! Lol but I had to do it that way since the 50s didn't have stereo. I had to depend on Line 6 for a retro sound which I heard they even can't do it right!

I'm glad you liked the guitar sounds as well. I was surprised on what type of tones I was getting from it, and it does sound retro. I was using a cheap Ibanez Casino copy so aided to the retro sound but Line 6 was responsible for that retro sound too. I used the 50s Bop setting for my guitar.

  • @cnidaria  Mar 5

I've never done 50/90, but who knows... this could be my first year. Even if I don't, I'd love to work on something with you during those months. Always looking for a good excuse to make music.

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 2

Thank you for listening to Left My Heart In Wales! It was a special, close to the heart write.

  • @writeandwrong  Mar 2

Thanks for your kind comments on "My Baby Girl." Yeah, wasn't really planning on that all getting written. It just happened. She's in this phase right now where she gets upset with me saying she doesn't have Asperger's (I think tho that in her mind her saying that pushes her to work harder at keeping up with her peers rather than getting left behind.) Whatever does the trick at this point for her to continue to push rather than sink back into that place where she thinks and dwells so much it consumes her.

  • @tiller2  Mar 1

I appreciate your generous comments on Cereal Boy. And best regards to your Special K.

  • @ferry0123 Feb 28

Hey Mike, thanks for your kind comment on 'Payneway to heaven'. I got some serious listening to more of your songs to do here. I'll be back!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 27

I don't have band-in-a-box BUT I do have a Casio digital piano with hundreds of rhythm patterns and beats preprogrammed... and this year I'm leveraging the heck out of it! Thanks for listening to my silly birthdayx10 song!

  • @crisp1  Feb 27

Thanks for the comment on Evening Echo. If you get a chance, come back and listen to the second version. It's amazing how differently two musicians can interpret the same lyric.

  • @sheilerk  Feb 26

  • @oblivionratula  Feb 26

Thanks for busting my Zong, "Blow Up Pam." It's an odd little type of music - not everyone's cup-o-tea, so I definitely appreciate your time/listen.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 26

Hi Mike, Did you get the final song lyrics from me on our co-write a few days ago? I was happy with the final take on it. Were you going to be able to put some music to it?

  • @roxya Feb 26

Thanks for your comment on "So you say". I appreciate you taking the time listen and comment.

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 24

Ugh, sorry to hear! PITA indeed!!! That's one reason why I'm moving. PA has winters, but not like Maine... glad this is my last winter here. Quite familiar of ice and lines snapping. Hopefully spring comes soon!!! Try to stay warm now that you have power again!

  • @scubed  Feb 23

Thanks so much for your comment on "Chattahoochee"! I'm running behind on listening & commenting but will be back by in a day or two to hear some more of your songs. šŸ˜€

Where did you live in New Mexico?

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 23

Hey, there, Mike! I saw that on FB! What caused the power outage? Tell that power company that's not allowed during February!! Glad you got it back! No worries! Completely understand...hope the weather hasn't been painfully cold there in the process! Looking forward to hearing it when you're able šŸ˜€

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 21

Yes, that would be awesome. Thank you Mike.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 21

Thank you Mike for collaborating with me and for your kind comment on my take on the lyric. It was lovely to hear your vision for the lyrics. Very inspiring work.

  • @sheilerk  Feb 21

Thank you for your comment on Come Back, Please. It would be very cool if you'd like to add some music and vocals. If you come up with something, I'd like a copy of both the instrumental and the recording with vocals sent to my email, in case I'd also like to sing it at some point. Let me know, and I'll add you as collaborator.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 21

Thanks for your kind comment on where is God when you need him.

Are you up for any collabs? If so how about telling the truth or dare story? It would be awesome with your voice.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 5

Hi Mike, thank you for your kind comment on my lyrics. I came up with music for it but if you feel you are happy to add music please go ahead, I think Laurie also mentioned she might. It could be one of my multi-collaborations if you are happy with the idea, something I normally don't do but today I somehow came up with music totally unectadly, didn't have any intention really. Anyway, please share with me your thoughts.
    Thank you again.

  • @silvermediapro  Feb 5

no problem dude! i can totally teach myself the piano part & record it myself. šŸ˜€

  • @silvermediapro  Feb 4

hey mike, i recorded vox over yer blue2 demo. enjoy šŸ˜€

I'm a child to men, and man to young.
It's the state of authority feeling dumb.
When I wake, I know the sluggish drone.
Take the day, feeling useless, a novice tone.

.. But the music keeps me grounded in my meditation
.. And the choices I make leave for no exemption
.. What of man would I be to turn and walk away?
.. What of child am I to fall into the day?

  • @tiller2  Feb 2

Thanks, Mike, for commenting so generously on my Dylan dream lyric. I'll let you know when I have the music.

  • @robs  Feb 2

    Have a great Fawm Mike!

  • @silvermediapro  Feb 2

hey mike, i've got my first fawmchart done, & was hoping you could do piano for it! the score/parts + clicktrack audio are linked on its songpage: http://fawm.org/songs/77577/

  • @dannyk1 Feb 1

Hi Mike. Thanks for checking out Take me and for the encouraging comment. Hoping you have a great FAWM!

  • @stickyfingers Feb 1

Thanks for the comment! John's work, both in and out of The Beatles has always been an influence. Lately I find myself sort of fascinated by the mood he was creating on Walls and Bridges; it's something I'd like to evoke myself.

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 1

Aww, thanks for your kind comments on "Body and Ghost."

  • @plainwhitetoast  Feb 1

    Howdy. Good February to you!

  • @zxcvbnm  Jan 31

Hi again, my view on a collab is totally democratic, it's important that we are both happy with the result. My normal writing process would be to sketch out the story, get a part verse or chorus and a rough tune, then draft the song.
I'm happy to fall in with your methods though if you have other ideas. I will have a listen to some of your stuff today. Is there anything which you think is a good example of what you would like to achieve?

  • @zxcvbnm  Jan 30

Hi @jamkar I see you have drawn the short straw and get me for a collab.

    Any thoughts?

  • @musicsongwriter Jan 30

Thank you Mike. I have cold and as I talk and sing during my piano lessons I tend to lose my voice when I have cold. Very annoying really. Well, everyone is saved from my singing for now lol.

  • @petra777  Jan 30
